Alienating the Base

Written by Erick Erickson

In the real world, no nationwide abortion ban is going to pass Congress, so Donald Trump will never have the opportunity to veto it. As a practical matter, concerns from pro-life activists amount to nothing because nothing is going to happen at the federal level. But for Trump and JD Vance, how they have improvised answers to the concerns of pro-life voters could hurt them more than help them. At the local level, the pro-life movement is on defense and losing every state that puts the matter up to a public vote.… Continue Reading

U.S. Senator Tom Cotton Shows Us How It’s Done

Written by Peter Heck

To say it was a bad look would be an insult to bad looks.

Over the weekend, Jonathan Karl, host of ABC’s Sunday morning talk show “This Week” humiliated himself in a conversation with U.S. Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR).

One of the worst sycophantic performances I’ve seen coming from a mainstream network anchor.

I am a fan of Tom Cotton. Consistently, I find him to be measured, mild mannered, affable, and, on the rare occasions where I disagree with him, reasonable and logical in his approach to issues.… Continue Reading

The Last Leg of a Long March

Written by Thomas Hampson

The Democrat Party of 2024 bears no resemblance to the Democrat Party of the 1960s. To be fair, neither does the Republican Party. The important difference is that the Republicans have maintained a commitment to and love for our original principles, while the Democrats have become the party that is ashamed of our founding.

In an August 15th post on X, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. wrote that the Party today “would be unrecognizable to my father and my uncle .Continue Reading

Democrats’ New Way Forward, One Lie At A Time

Written by Robert Knight

The lies were thick and fast all week at the Democratic National Convention, but never so blatantly as they were in Vice President Kamala Harris’ acceptance speech.

The Democratic presidential nominee accused her opponent, former President Donald Trump, of wanting to cut Social Security and Medicare (he has not); being weak on border enforcement (he had it under control before President Biden and Ms. Harris took office) and sending an “armed mob” to the Capitol on Jan.… Continue Reading

Christians Voting for Trump?

Written by Pastor Calvin Lindstrom

Recently, one of my former students sent me a link to a video. It comes from a TikTok account, canceledchristian, which contains content from a young woman raised in a Christian fundamentalist family who attended Pensacola Christian College.

The purpose of her account is ”Exposing Christian Fundamentalism.”

In the video linked above, this young woman asks two main questions of Christians who support Donald Trump.

1] Why do Christians believe Donald Trump is a Christian?… Continue Reading

How Trump and the GOP Should Call Kamala’s Border Bluff

Written by Daniel Horowitz

Here are two simple truths. First, the Biden-Harris administration has allowed more dangerous people, including known terrorists, to cross our border and be released into the country than ever before. Second, as vice president, Kamala Harris was appointed as the point person over the border. With the president essentially incapacitated, she is in charge.

Donald Trump and Republicans must relentlessly connect these two points without distractions. Harris recently promised to get tough on the border.

Does the Media Use Fake Polls to Depress Republican Turnout?

Written by Elizabeth Vaughn

Ahead of the Democratic National Convention this week, “Fox News Sunday” host Shannon Bream rattled off the latest batch of battleground state polls from New York Times/Siena College to U.S. Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), which showed Vice President Kamala Harris leading former President Donald Trump by 5 points in Arizona and by 2 points in North Carolina. She also referenced two new national surveys from ABC News/Washington Post and CBS News showing Harris ahead of Trump by 4 points and 3 points in those respective states.… Continue Reading

What to Expect at the Democratic National Convention

Written by Robert Knight

The Democratic National Convention convenes on today and runs through Thursday, Aug. 22.

“More than 15,000 members of the media will be in Chicago to cover the convention,” the convention website informs us. That is, they’re supposed to be there to cover it, not act as delegates. But it’ll work out the same way.

The media will help Democrats create a misleading portrait of the party to pump into America’s living rooms.… Continue Reading

Harris the Crime Fighter?

Written by Thomas Hampson

At a campaign rally on August 1st, Kamala Harris, while simultaneously taking a shot at Donald Trump, boasted of her superior crime-fighting ability, especially of her prosecutorial experience and skills. Using a cringe-worthy fake southern accent, Harris said:

“As many of you know, before I was elected Vice President and before I was elected a United States Senator, I was an elected Attorney General and an elected District Attorney. And before that, I was a courtroom prosecutor.

Democrats and Their News Media Don’t Even Try to Hide What They Think of You

Written by Dr. Everett Piper

In 2008, then-presidential candidate Barack Obama said he wasn’t surprised that people from “small towns in Pennsylvania, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, clung to [their] guns or religion.” This wasn’t a compliment. He thought those people were “weird.”

In 2016, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called the same group of people Mr. Obama disparaged a “basket of deplorables,” She went on to say we were “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic [and] you name it,” just plain “weird.”… Continue Reading
