The report of special counsel John Durham is, or ought to be, devastating for anyone who has put any credence in what has now been definitively revealed to be the Russia collusion hoax.
With a painstaking examination of the evidence (1,753 footnotes!), Durham establishes conclusively that there was no basis for the FBI to have begun its Crossfire Hurricane investigation of ties between the Trump campaign and Russia in July 2016. The Bureau acted on “raw, unanalyzed, and uncorroborated intelligence” and without checking with intelligence entities.… Continue Reading

As with ProPublica’s recent smear of Clarence Thomas, there’s a lot of excitement across the left-wing Twittersphere over a Politico hit on Neil Gorsuch. But even as a transparent piece of partisan propaganda, it is poorly conceived.
Politico kicks off the piece, “Law firm head bought Gorsuch-owned property,” with a purposefully deceptive claim: “For nearly two years beginning in 2015, Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch sought a buyer for a 40-acre tract of property he co-owned in rural Granby, Colo.”… Continue Reading

History tends to repeat itself. This is certainly true of “Ranked Choice Voting” in Illinois.
You may remember a junior state senator in Illinois by the name of Barack Obama. In 2001, then-Senator Obama introduced a bill that would have put on the ballot a Constitutional Amendment to elect the Illinois House of Representatives by “fair voting” in 3-seat districts elected by voters given cumulative voting rights.
Then, in 2002, Obama introduced a bill that would have required that partisan primaries for congressional office be conducted by “instant runoff voting” or IRV, also known as ranked-choice voting.… Continue Reading

This week, the U.S. Senate confirmed President Joe Biden’s 100th federal judicial nominee, reaching that milestone faster than his two predecessors. At this point in their presidencies, Trump had 88 judges confirmed and Obama had 67.
Biden’s judicial confirmations include one U.S. Supreme Court justice, 30 circuit court and 69 district court judges. The wave of confirmations this week included:
- Cindy K. Chung to the U.S. 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals.

Have you ever boarded an airliner during a rainstorm and then, minutes later, broken through the clouds to bright sunshine? It can be quite startling. People blink like moles emerging from their burrow.
The sun has been there all along, of course, but when we’re unable to see it from below we can forget how bright it can be.
That’s how believers view this world under God. No matter how bad things get, there is a Creator God who loves us and inspires hope in this life and the next.… Continue Reading

“Our people look for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new
and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors
which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people?”
~Ronald Reagan
Republicans are still painting in pastels instead of bold colors.
Even the profoundly dangerous and oxymoronically named “Respect for Marriage Act” has failed to draw concerted GOP opposition.… Continue Reading

Whenever Barack Obama grants an interview to one of his adorers in the media, one who arrives bathed in the glow of servility, everyone should be reminded that this is a major reason why people don’t trust the media.
In every interview, Obama is treated as a global celebrity and as the wisest of wise men. One can understand a journalist offering more tender inquiries to an ex-president, but there is no difference in tenderness between now and during his presidency.… Continue Reading

What part of a judge being soft on child pornography offenders don’t they understand?
Having embraced every perversion under the sun and proclaimed it all good, Democrats in the U.S. Senate predictably voted 50-0 on Thursday to affirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court.
That would include Joe Manchin. The senator from West Virginia has stood in the gap against some of the Democrats’ worst schemes like “Build Back Better.”… Continue Reading

Every political campaign’s dream is to get potential voters to glance at piece of mail they find in their mailboxes, then their hearts pound quicker if those voters stop and read the mailing cover. Then they hope the voter will open the piece and read what they want those voters to know – either good stuff about their candidate or bad stuff about their opponent.
And that’s all besides the great money the printer gets for doing the mailer, the piece designer gets for putting it together and the political consultants commonly get for, well, being campaign consultants.… Continue Reading

There are many column-worthy topics, but I’m going to limit this to the Hunter Biden laptop, President Biden’s troubling gaffes and Disney’s latest plunge into “wokeness.”
The Washington Post, like The New York Times, has finally admitted the validity of Hunter Biden’s laptop 16 months after the New York Post broke the story. Like Big Tech, they suppressed it until after his father, Joe Biden, was safely ensconced in the White House.… Continue Reading
