A good number of folks–especially on social media–are asking why I continue to refuse to vote for the incumbent Republican governor even in the wake of the Sam McCann betrayal. It’s pretty straight forward. I believe that Bruce Rauner is more dangerous to the conservative cause than J.B. Pritzker could ever be.
Bruce Rauner, the leader of the Illinois Republican Party, has severely damaged the conservative cause and has battered the GOP brand in inconceivable ways over the past four years.… Continue Reading

“The evidence is overwhelming,” insists Lemon. But is it, really? There are several reasons why it is a false claim that “right-wing extremists” are a bigger threat to Americans than Islamic jihad terrorists. “Lemon pointed to a recent Government Accountability Office report that shows that since the 9/11 attacks in 2001, far-right violent extremists have killed 106 people in 62 attacks in the United States, while radical Islamist violent extremists have killed 119 people in 23 attacks.”… Continue Reading

Highlights from the recent Call to Pray observance in Springfield are the focus of this week’s Illinois Family Spotlight. IFI is partnering with Family Research Council’s Watchmen on the Wall to assemble pastors and faith leaders at the state capital, on a regular basis, to pray. In a display of unity in the body of Christ, pastors came from churches throughout Illinois to praise God, confess our corporate sin, and petition Him for His continued blessing on our land.… Continue Reading

The anti-conservative hate group, Southern Poverty Law Center, wants to censor people it disagrees with and it’s asking the top social media companies to help.
On Thursday, October 25, the liberal organization announced that it had formed a coalition with five other groups to encourage the prohibition of so-called “hate speech” online. SPLC partnered with four George Soros funded organizations: the Center for American Progress, Color of Change, Free Press and Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, as well as the National Hispanic Media Coalition.… Continue Reading

Republicans have not only betrayed their promise to repeal Obamacare, they have made Obamacare popular. They have championed its three core elements while refusing to even make the case against all its vulnerabilities and are now running on preserving it. While we are all focused on the results of November 6, we must gird up for a longer battle that, if not waged and won, will ensure we never have health care freedom in America, because a consensus for government-run monopolies is close to fruition.… Continue Reading

The mid-term election is less than two weeks away and early voting is in full swing! With that in mind, Dave Smith and Monte Larrick welcome Richard Hartian, Chairman of the IFA Board of Directors, to Illinois Family Spotlight. Chairman Hartian stresses that Christians cannot abdicate their God-given right to vote and he offers sound, biblical reasons why we should vote in alignment with biblical principles that promote, protect, and preserve life, marriage, and family.… Continue Reading

This past weekend, incumbent Governor Bruce Rauner appeared on the Flannery Fired Up political program on Chicago’s local Fox32 station (WFLD). During this thirty-minute weekly program, political reporter Mike Flannery went one-on-one with Rauner, covering a number of state issues.
What caught my attention and got me fired up was their discussion about the structural imbalance of the Illinois state budget. In their exchange, Rauner had the audacity to complain that healthcare costs for state employees are “out of control,” rightly saying that it healthcare is “broken.”… Continue Reading

Well, it’s official now: Jazz Jennings – born 18 years ago as Jared, with normally functioning male parts – now has female parts.
Despite a “complication” requiring a second procedure, Jazz is happy to tell her throngs of adoring fans that her surgery was a success and that now “I just get to be myself, be in the body that I’ve always wanted.”
In case you missed it somewhere along the way – as you worked those long, hard hours scraping up enough money to pay the rent and feed your family – in 2007, when Jared was just seven years old, he became the poster-child for childhood transgenderism.… Continue Reading

Americans today are less likely to define socialism as government ownership of the means of production and more likely to describe it in relation to equality or government benefits and social services, according to a new Gallup poll conducted in September.
Only seventeen percent of Americans in 2018 define socialism as government ownership of the means of production compared to twice that number in 1949 when Gallup first surveyed Americans on the term.… Continue Reading

Dr. Eric Wallace joins Monte Larrick in this podcast. Dr. Wallace is the president of the Freedom’s Journal Institute. A former pastor, adjunct professor, author, military, and political candidate are descriptors used by others to describe Dr. Wallace. However, he prefers to be recognized first and foremost as a believer in Jesus Christ and a servant of God.
They converse on the criteria for identifying a candidate who deserves your vote, christian conservatives deserting their biblical values when voting, racism in the church, and what we as Christians can do to combat racism.… Continue Reading
