Will County board member Mike Fricilone, a 65-year-old Homer Glen resident who works as a sales manager for a furniture retailer, recently filed his petitions with the Illinois State Board of Elections as a candidate for the 3rd Congressional District. He will face two other Republicans in the March 17th primary election.
The district is located on the south and southwest side of Chicago and it’s suburbs, including Oak Lawn, Burbank, Summit, Hickory Hills, Palos Hills, Homer Glen, Orland Hills, Lockport and Lemont.… Continue Reading

A history professor I once studied under tended to offer weary responses to technical and highly dispensable questions of the sort that arise in weary seminars. To wit: “But what’s that got to do with the price of eggs?” Or, more pointedly sometimes, “the price of eggs in Arkansas?”
I thought of this aptly characterized boredom threshold as I watched the impeachment — um — hearings on Monday. Hearings? Snorings seems more to the point: a canopy of mingled objections and arguments and the preening of elected officials who know well enough they are on television.… Continue Reading

In this election season, one thing becomes more evident every day. If you value human life, you have no choice but to vote for Donald Trump.
“How can you say that,” you shout. “How can anyone claim that only one man or one party stands for human life and the dignity of the human being?
There is a one-word answer: Abortion.
Oh, I can hear the chorus of malcontents. “You conservatives are so myopic.… Continue Reading

If anything has become crystal-clear this year through all the interminable, pointless, never-ending Democratic Free-a-Thons (one can hardly call them “debates”), it’s this:
The Democrats are totally and absolutely a party focused solely on identity politics and a party not at all concerned with the greater, general good of the country. Their electoral strategy is based on identifying specific groups of voters to whom they can assign victimhood status and then promise a taxpayer-funded government program to alleviate their suffering and correct the wrongs perpetrated against them.… Continue Reading

There’s exciting news for Illinois voters concerned about the integrity of our elections! A statewide organization, Illinois Conservative Union (ICU), has given notice to the state election authority that it must provide ICU a copy of the state voter rolls, or face a lawsuit.
ICU, an Illinois civic organization, contacted the Illinois State Board of Elections in July, requesting the Illinois voter list data file. The data file is required for analysis by the ICU Election Integrity Program to ensure that the state is conducting proper list maintenance as required by federal law.… Continue Reading

What sets our current age apart from previous ones is not only technological wonders but the shocking abandonment of truth.
For Marxists, a lie is as good as truth if it works to advance their cause. A case in point was a recent article on the front page of The Washington Post’s Sunday Outlook section. Next to a large, serious portrait, the headline proclaimed: “Barack Obama: Conservative.” Sure.… Continue Reading

Our first Spotlight of December features a portion of a presentation given by Dr. Michelle Cretella at the 2019 Illinois Family Institute Worldview Conference on “Trans” Ideology. Dr. Cretella discusses the differences between true, biological science, which supports pro-life and pro-family propositions, and the anti-science cult of gender ideology, which is preached by mainstream medicine, psychiatry, public and private education systems, and social and mass media.
Dr. Cretella also addresses the serious implications of the transgender movement: erasure of parents’ rights, women’s rights, and religious freedom; establishment of gender identity as a protected class; as well as potential legal action that awaits anyone who persists in using “discriminatory” language, i.e.… Continue Reading

God desires for His people to walk in righteousness and stand for truth, justice and the sanctity of life. His Word instructs us to be bold and courageous, to expose what is wicked, and to uphold what is right, honorable and praiseworthy.
Unfortunately, God’s people often fail to step up to the challenge in our hostile and dark culture. But those who answer God’s call and become bold truth tellers are worth highlighting, because it encourages us to emulate them.… Continue Reading
