Two recent opinion columns were eye catchers.
A Wall Street Journal piece by James Carville was headlined, “Democrats Are the Anticrime Party.” Seriously?
The other, by The Washington Post’s Dana Milbank, said, “The GOP’s fixation on race is on full display.” Seriously?
Both men are undoubtedly familiar with the definition of “chutzpah.” It’s someone killing his parents and then falling on the mercy of the court on account of his being an orphan.… Continue Reading

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) came under blistering attack from Washington Post scribe Aaron Blake for having wondered whether President Joe Biden is really in charge, since he’s kept an extremely low profile with the press. Blake took after the senator for implying the Trump spin that old Joe has lost a few mental gears and is something of a “Manchurian Candidate.” “It’s a baseless and ugly bit of innuendo,” Blake wrote.… Continue Reading

Conservatives have canceled their own culture. Glenn Beck was a recent example, blasting anti-communist U.S. Senator Joe McCarthy and warning of a new “Red Scare” targeting conservatives. We should have taken the old Red Scare more seriously and could have avoided our current fate.
That fate, recently described by federal Judge Laurence Silberman, is the “ideological consolidation” of the media in the hands of the Democratic Party and its allies. Marx called it the centralization of the means of communications in the hands of the state.… Continue Reading

President Biden’s first formal press conference is in the books, and it was deeply embarrassing to anyone who thinks the media’s job is to hold presidents accountable.
Taxpayer-enabled PBS White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor was the worst. She complimented the president, saying: “You’ve said over and over again that immigrants shouldn’t come to this country right now; this isn’t the time to come. That message is not being received. Instead, the perception of you that got you elected as a moral, decent man is the reason why a lot of immigrants are coming to this country and are trusting you with unaccompanied minors.”… Continue Reading

Liberals love to insist they’re on the “right side of history,” and their confidence crests in the liberal dominance among historians. Just as the liberal media dominate our evaluation of day-to-day developments, liberals count on their historians to dominate our evaluation of the decades behind us.
It’s not just historians but our taxpayer-funded storytellers, like the insufferable PBS documentarian Ken Burns. On the day before President-elect Joe Biden‘s inauguration, NPR’s “Morning Edition” presented him as an American treasure with no partisan bias.… Continue Reading

So, Colin Kaepernick is the current face of American professional sports.
This is the guy widely panned four years ago for his protests during the playing of the National Anthem at National Football League games. Now he’s the bee’s knees.
That’s the picture from a Washington Post poll that says a majority (56 percent) of Americans actually approve of athletes kneeling in protest when the Star-Spangled Banner is played. Only 42 percent of those polled say it’s “not appropriate.”… Continue Reading

The hallmark of a first-world country is not that violence never occurs within its borders, but that once it does, the damage is mitigated immediately and the perpetrators are punished and future criminals deterred. Yet here we are, over 80 days into this national insurrection by terrorist groups like Back Lives Matter and Antifa, and there is no end in sight.… Continue Reading

Better late than never. And I’m serious.
I’ve been adamant about holding woke warriors like outspoken NBA coach Steve Kerr accountable for his inexcusable moral hypocrisy when it comes to matters of social justice.
Kerr’s persistence in pointing out to everyone how sensitive he is to the plight of those treated unjustly counterbalanced against his flagrant unwillingness to say a single word on behalf of the most oppressed and mistreated victims of systemic injustice in the world is mindless.… Continue Reading

In a 2017 USA Today op-ed, journalist Jonathan Merritt, who has distinguished himself by persistently undermining the authority of Scripture while wearing the name of Jesus, fretted over a potential Christian boycott of Disney and its LGBT activism. He wrote:
It risks making Christians look like antiquated bigots, and it reeks of moral hypocrisy. Worse, it diverts energy from a more worthwhile effort: teaching Christian children to coexist in a pluralistic society.

“You don’t ever want a crisis to go to waste. It’s an opportunity to do things that you would otherwise avoid.”
So said former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who was President Obama’s chief of staff and an astute practitioner of smashmouth politics.
It’s worth remembering this as the Democrats and their media do everything they can to hype the dangers of the Wuhan coronavirus. Not that it isn’t deadly serious. It is.… Continue Reading
