With the midterm elections just a couple of days away, the woke cries of Christian nationalism are again on the rise. We hear the portents from coast to coast. Everyone from California’s dear leader, Gavin Newsom, to George Soros’ sock puppet, President Biden, is warning that “Christian nationalists” are perhaps the greatest threat to our country.

In San Francisco, a committee tasked to rid the school system of now-disgraced public figures at 44 sites says that a high school named after Abraham Lincoln, who freed the slaves and held America together through the Civil War, ought to drop the Great Emancipator.

Tear All The Statues Down?

Last weekend I overheard two recent grads (both musicians) discussing America’s greatest composers. The usual names were raised: Copland, Gershwin, Bernstein, Sousa … Foster.

“Who?” said one.

“Stephen Foster,” replied the other.

Only one knew who Foster was, and neither knew he was from Pittsburgh. Both, ironically, recently spent a lot of time in Oakland, where the Stephen Foster statue once stood outside the Carnegie.
