There was a record-sized field of candidates containing as many women as men. Their surnames ranged from the long familiar to the novel and exotic; they had multiple racial and ethnic backgrounds, and at least one gay candidate was in the running. This sounds like the ever-expanding list of candidates for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, but it’s also a description of the field in last month’s primary election for mayor of Chicago.… Continue Reading

What exactly is a socialist? You could spend all day studying encyclopedias and not settle anything. Using various definitions, you could probably prove that anybody is or isn’t a socialist.
So let’s talk to a socialist. Ignore the verbiage and look inside his head. When someone announces to the world, “I’m a socialist,” what is that person thinking?
With this focus, everything becomes simpler. Socialists may not be able to claim experience, learning, smarts, or success. … Continue Reading

Rep. Steve Cohen, (D-Tenn.), recently introduced a proposed constitutional amendment that would eliminate the Electoral College. This was obviously done in response to the fact that Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election despite winning nearly 3 million more votes than President Trump. According to Cohen, the Electoral College is outdated and distorting.
In a recent Fox News article, Cohen was quoted as saying, “Americans expect and deserve the winner of the popular vote to win office. … Continue Reading

The left-leaning MSNBC was amazed when a new survey revealed that a surprisingly large percentage of Hispanics voted for Republicans in November’s midterm election.
In fact, the survey conducted for The Associated Press by NORC at the University of Chicago divulged that nearly one in three of the 7,738 Latino voters surveyed casted their ballots for GOP candidates just over two years ago.
“In November’s elections, 32 percent of Latinos voted for Republicans, frustrating Democrats, according to AP VoteCast data,” The Associated Press (AP) announced in a report published by NBCNews.com… Continue Reading

Remember the old warning from President Dwight D. Eisenhower about the “military industrial complex”? He was right.
But the defense industry has nothing on the D.C. Swamp, the Deep State, the Democrat Party and the group that does their bidding: the Liberal Media Industrial Complex. They will do anything, lie about anything, slander and manipulate in order to make government bigger and more powerful. And they will go scorched-earth to destroy anyone who opposes them.… Continue Reading

Since November 2016, the media and the progressive Left have been pounding the same two claims.
The first is that Donald Trump was not really elected, since Hillary Clinton got more popular votes.
The second is that anyone who voted for Mr. Trump or supports him today is a white male supremacist bigot. And probably homophobic and xenophobic to boot. Regardless of actual race or sex.
Regarding the first claim, Hillary’s national margin of 2.8 million votes can be explained entirely by California, which has become a one-party, socialist state with enormous potential for voter fraud.… Continue Reading

Someone please tell me what bizarro world Democratic activists inhabit — those who are grumbling that Republicans are unscrupulous partisan warriors imposing their agenda by government coercion and trampling the innocent, passive left in the process.
This is frighteningly delusional and shockingly divorced from reality.
Without question, Democrats and their never-Trump supporters on the right would have us believe that Donald Trump is the very creator of partisan politics, someone who has gobsmacked the unsuspecting collegial political left into abject impotence.… Continue Reading

The progressive game plan to re-acquire power in Washington and make it permanent has been shockingly obvious for some time:
Import millions of illegal immigrants, hook them on government aid, and turn them into voters – legally or illegally.
Two Democrats running for Congress in Texas have come out for decriminalizing illegal immigration, along with Beta O’Rourke, who is running for Ted Cruz’s U.S. Senate seat. Virtually all Democrat office holders oppose voter ID laws.… Continue Reading

The American Left has so many people vying to be the Alternative Reality poster child that it may be difficult to pick a winner.
In recent weeks, we’ve seen a slew of entries:
Hillary Clinton recently praised an 11-year-old schoolgirl in Maryland who refused to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance and “took a knee” like NFL players. “It takes courage to exercise your right to protest injustice, especially when you’re 11!… Continue Reading

It’s quite simple: Some political relatives are more equal than others.
Agenda-driven journalists love to exploit familial dysfunction when a prominent politician is conservative and his or her kinfolk espouse liberal views. When a vengeful offspring, sibling, cousin or distant relation wants to wreak havoc, instant fame and adoration are just a tweet or call away. The media schadenfreude over such bloody bloodline battles is thicker than California wildfire smoke.
By contrast, relatives who openly challenge powerful Democrats are dismissed as gadflies and publicity hounds.… Continue Reading
