A federal judge recently issued a temporary order preventing disciplinary action against two officers who requested a religious accommodation to the military vaccine mandate. Judge Steven Merryday—serving on the District Court for the Middle District of Florida—strongly rebuked the military’s approach to religious accommodation requests.

The first-in-the-nation primary in 2022 is Texas, with the March 1st primary election, and in-person early voting began on Monday, February 14. Like Illinois, Texas has an open primary election, and voter registration in Texas does not require the declaration of a political party for a registered voter, meaning any registered voter can vote in the primary of their choice on primary election day.

The 86th Representative District in the Illinois House is currently represented by 6-term state Representative Larry Walsh, Jr. who will seek reelection to a 7th term in November of 2022.  Walsh, first appointed to the 86th District seat in 2012 when his predecessor resigned from office and the fall ballot due to health reasons, has won election ever since, and in 2020, did not face any opposition.
