On 60 Minutes, Anderson Cooper asked Bernie Sanders about his early enthusiasm for Fidel Castro, the late Cuban dictator. Sanders said that he was no longer an enthusiast, but did want us all to remember that Castro had done some good. He praised the literacy program implemented by Castro, asking, “Is that a bad thing?”
No, it’s a not a bad thing. But it hardly makes up for 60 years of dictatorship, suppression of free speech, torture and imprisonment of political prisoners, destruction of much of the economy which for a long time was kept afloat by infusions of cash from the Soviet Union.… Continue Reading

Federal lawmakers behind a bill to protect babies born alive after botched abortions had reason to believe that it was a relatively uncontroversial policy measure, but Democrats believed otherwise.
Inaccurately calling the legislation an “abortion” bill, the senior Illinois Democrat in the U.S. Senate and forty of his colleagues made clear that even protecting the lives of living children is no longer uncontroversial in America today — at least in Washington, D.C.… Continue Reading

It was no surprise to pro-lifers on February 11th when the pro-abortion, Democrat-controlled Colorado House Committee on State, Veterans, and Military Affairs voted to postpone and essentially kill CO HB 1068, which would have provided legal protection for infants born alive after a failed abortion attempt. Under the guise of a venture called the “1619 Project,” revisionist history about race in America is being introduced into classrooms across America without undergoing the normal peer review expected of educational materials. August 2019 marked the birth of the project, a publication of The New York Times Magazine and the Pulitzer organization, containing a collection of essays and artistic works to commemorate the 400-year anniversary of slavery in America.… Continue Reading
Dear Pastor and Church Leaders,
My name is Mary Miller; I am running for Congress in your district, IL-15.
I would love to share with your congregation who I am, why I am running, and how I would represent this district in Congress.
I have always thought it was important for people of faith to be involved in the political process. For most of my life I never really had political aspirations, but I have always asked God to show me opportunities to “overcome evil with good”. … Continue Reading

Prior to last fall’s IFI Faith, Family, and Freedom Banquet, the Reverend Franklin Graham spoke with Monte Larrick. We are pleased to feature that interview on this edition of Spotlight. Rev. Graham stresses that Christians must be engaged and involved in the political process, educated as to the candidates’ stand on the crucial issues of life and religious freedoms, and committed to prayer before entering the voter booth.
Some of the topics Rev.… Continue Reading

Chicago Tribune writer Eric Zorn has offered a new paradigm for U.S. elections. Zorn says, “Let’s give Green Card holders (non-citizens who have legal status to reside permanently and work in the U.S.) voting rights. After all, they pay taxes!” His January 23rd column is titled, “Jesse White’s blunder makes me want to ask, what’s so terrible about allowing non-citizens to vote?”
The column was precipitated by the news that Illinois’ automatic voter registration system, which is in effect at driver’s license facilities and other state agencies, had mistakenly registered 545 non-citizens who had interacted with a state agency.… Continue Reading
