The divisions in our country go far beyond conservative versus liberal or Republican versus Democrat. Not that the parties are unimportant. More on that in a minute.
It’s right versus wrong and whether we’ll be able to pass on America’s heritage of liberty and prosperity to our children and grandchildren.
One side — the progressive, Marxist left — wants to expand government to intrude into every human activity except one: sexuality. For that, they seek to eradicate all moral, cultural and legal restraints.… Continue Reading

Illinois is a real piece of work when it comes to politics. But just because Christian conservatives are in the super minority in the General Assembly doesn’t mean we can’t still make an impact! We should!
David Curtain is IFI’s lobbyist, navigating the dark corridors of Springfield and the legislation that issues forth from it. He’s been working under the capitol dome for over 30 years, so he knows the ins and outs of government, but he also is a firsthand witness to the power of prayer.… Continue Reading

The most effective form of border security is not at the border itself.
Here’s a novel idea based on observations of the ebb and flow of illegal immigration over the past half-century. If you invite illegal aliens into the country and offer them jobs and benefits, they will come. If you make it clear that they will obtain zero benefits and, if caught, will be removed, they will not come. In other words, this is not some sort of natural disaster that requires more personnel at the border to ameliorate the situation.… Continue Reading

This past week, the Committee to Unleash Prosperity issued a report highlighting the following: Current unemployment benefits combined with pandemic and health care subsidies can now add up to $160,000 annually in certain parts of the country. The report cites the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ most recent data, showing America’s current potential workforce is participating at a woeful 62%. This is 1.5% below pre-COVID levels, which means that, by some estimates, we now have at least 400,000 fewer people engaged in gainful employment than we did before 2020.… Continue Reading

Nobody seems to know who leaked the U.S. Supreme Court’s draft in the Dobbs case overturning Roe v. Wade. Nobody seems to know how many serious adverse effects occurred shortly after COVID-19 shots. Nobody seems to know how the FBI was turned into a left-wing political weapon.
“Mainstream” media doesn’t find these things worth pursuing.
Thanks to an exhaustive investigative analysis by The Washington Post, however, we now know how many parents — 38 — around the country have challenged Jonathan Evison’s book “Lawn Boy” in school libraries.… Continue Reading

In this episode of Illinois Family Spotlight podcast, we revisit a powerful lecture given the 2019 Illinois Family Institute Worldview Conference on the “trans” ideology. Sanity as Insurrection is the title of the final session of that conference, and it was delivered by Pastor Doug Wilson. He stressed the importance of asking sane questions, ones that strike at the heart of the matter, when we engage in debate with our adversaries because “deliberate and premeditated sanity is a challenge to the powers that be.”… Continue Reading

Earth is headed for a sixth extinction, warned biologist Paul Ehrlich on “60 Minutes” this Sunday. And since Ehrlich has predicted about 20 extinctions over the past 60 years, he’s a leading expert on the issue.
Couldn’t “60 Minutes” find a fresh-faced, yet-to-be-discredited neo-Malthusian to hyperventilate about the end of the world? Why didn’t producers invite a single guest to push back against theories that have been reliably debunked by reality? Because the media is staffed by environmental pessimists and doomsayers who need to believe the world is in constant peril due to the excesses of capitalism.… Continue Reading
“Our soul waits for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in Him,
Because we have trusted in His holy name.
Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us,
Just as we hope in You.”
~Psalm 33:20-22
Many Americans would agree that 2022 was a bizarre, contentious, and challenging year. And with only a few days into the New Year, 2023 doesn’t look like it will be much different.… Continue Reading

In this week’s IFA Spotlight podcast, we’re highlighting remarks made at IFI’s Medical Freedom Forum held earlier this year at Jubilee Bible Church. Dr. Mark Zumhagen explains how our culture has replaced God with science, medicine, and government.
In his presentation, Zumhagen gives an illustration of two chairs. In one chair, there’s science that acknowledges that there is a Creator, and in the other chair, science that denies His existence. Which chair is objectively better to sit in?… Continue Reading

Mere moments after former President Donald Trump dropped his “big announcement” about a new line of virtual trading cards, more than a few left-leaning voices were scoffing and asking how any self-respecting person could continue to associate themselves with such a huckster. While I will let Trump fans speak for themselves, I feel it incumbent to ask how these same leftists continue associating themselves with the credibility clown show that is modern American progressivism right now.… Continue Reading
