Cooking Up a Viral Moment

Written by Robert Knight

Two theories are circulating about the origin of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The media are still selling the idea that it probably arose from an infected bat at an outdoor live animal food market in Wuhan.  That’s also the Chinese Communist Party’s line.

The media don’t want people thinking that communist researchers at the Wuhan Virology Institute’s BSL-4 lab might have been directly responsible.

However, a plausible scenario is that the virus was, indeed, cooked up in the lab.… Continue Reading

In a National Emergency, Does the Constitution Still Apply?

Written by Marc S. Strecker

An essential principle of the United States is that it is a free country, with individual liberties guaranteed, and government power limited.  That concept is now being tested.  A deadly worldwide pandemic has led to draconian lockdowns, forced closings of businesses, and even mandatory “stay at home” orders, some with Orwellian, friendly sounding names like “Safer at Home” or “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” – but still mandatory and enforced by police. … Continue Reading

Stop Equating Socialized Healthcare With Compassion

Written by Peter Heck

For decades, there has been a mantra embraced and utilized by advocates of the nanny state everywhere: “never let a crisis go to waste.” History demonstrates that the masses are most willing to tolerate, if not welcome, the intrusion of big government into their lives when they are panicked, fearful, or impoverished. It’s one of the reasons why former President Eisenhower always argued that the best weapon against the advance of communism wasn’t a strong military, but a strong economy.… Continue Reading

Drafting Women Into the Army and More People Into Big Government

Written by Robert Knight

Don’t look now, but powerful forces are maneuvering to subject our daughters to the draft.  It’s part of the ongoing exploitation of the current crisis.  More about this below. Right now, our home-grown socialists are delighted that Uncle Sugar will be handing out checks to everybody under the sun as part of the $2 trillion stimulus package. And why shouldn’t they be? The socialist goal is to make everyone dependent on government, except for them.… Continue Reading

The Worst Time for Congressional Partisanship

Written by David Limbaugh

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi‘s attempted partisan sabotage of the coronavirus relief bill might mark a new low for her. That the bill finally passed doesn’t excuse her reckless gamesmanship.

Republican and Democratic U.S. Senate leaders were close to an agreement when Pelosi parked her partisan broomstick and poured poison into the congressional punchbowl.

“Talking to some Senate GOP sources,” Townhall political editor Guy Benson tweeted. “They seem stunned and angry.… Continue Reading

U.S. Senator Durbin Wants Some Preemies to Live and Others to Die

Written by Laurie Higgins

Dead-baby supporters U.S. Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth, along with 42 collaborators helped defeat Senator Ben Sasse’s attempt to prohibit infanticide. Durbin took to the Senate floor to lie about Sasse’s bill by referring to it as an abortion bill despite the fact that he knows it has nothing to do with restricting access to abortion. Sasse’s bill, the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act, would have required doctors to treat babies who survive abortions just as they would treat any other babies who are born alive.Continue Reading

Non-Citizens May Not Have “The Vision Thing”

Written by Jane Ryan Carrell

Chicago Tribune writer Eric Zorn has offered a new paradigm for U.S. elections. Zorn says, “Let’s give Green Card holders (non-citizens who have legal status to reside permanently and work in the U.S.) voting rights. After all, they pay taxes!” His January 23rd column is titled, “Jesse White’s blunder makes me want to ask, what’s so terrible about allowing non-citizens to vote?

The column was precipitated by the news that Illinois’ automatic voter registration system, which is in effect at driver’s license facilities and other state agencies, had mistakenly registered 545 non-citizens who had interacted with a state agency.… Continue Reading

Adam Schiff’s Avalanche of Accolades

Written by Brent Bozell III

Our media elites arrogantly lecture about our democracy being undermined by robotic propaganda, but do they ever listen to themselves talk about the Democrats? Somehow, they think their robotic propaganda is just the “truth.” The press came to witness the Senate impeachment trial, and U.S. Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) had them at hello.

No member of Congress has been more dramatically partisan in this war on the Trump presidency than Schiff. … Continue Reading

The Constitution and Rule of Law – When It Suits Them

Written by Robert Knight

Upon delivering two articles of impeachment to the U.S. Senate on Wednesday, U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared that Mr. Trump was guilty of “an assault on the Constitution of the United States.”

Wow. That was some phone call he made to Ukraine’s president. Who knew that, if unaddressed, it would unravel the nation’s founding document?

In any case, Mrs. Pelosi’s newfound, if selective, respect for the U.S. Constitution is refreshing.

In 2010, when asked what part of the U.S.… Continue Reading

Foreign influence? How Trump Can Shut Down the Birth Tourism Scam

Written by Daniel Horowitz

Over the next few weeks the news cycle will be paralyzed by an impeachment trial that is essentially about foreign interference in our politics. However, the Trump administration has an opportunity to act on one of the most sinister foreign influences in our country, namely, birth tourism, being used by — you guessed it — Russia and China. If foreign influence is of such great concern to Democrats, shouldn’t we all agree to stop the practice of awarding those who lie to get into the country or who infiltrate our border with the ultimate prize of American citizenship?… Continue Reading
