“Nothing shocks me anymore” is a phrase Christian conservatives find themselves saying with evermore frequency these days, often with a deep sigh. Yet you’ll probably be astounded to learn that Illinois Congressional Democrats voted against the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act (HR 7909) this week.

U.S. Representative Jamaal Boman (D-NY) came under intense criticism when the media reported his comments about the treatment of female hostages by Hamas.

According to Politico,

“In the weeks after Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel, Rep. Jamaal Bowman not only publicly cast doubt on reports that Israeli women were raped, but also called those accusations ‘propaganda.’”

The 2022 General Election campaign is reaching the home stretch, and the start of expanded in-person early voting and local get-out-the-vote (GOTV) efforts are underway to ensure that all voters turn out to cast their ballots. As Illinois Family Action begins looking at the Financial Disclosure statements (FD) of Republican candidates seeking the Republican nominations on June 28 for U.S. House or U.S. Senate, voters have an early look at the kind of Member of Congress they would be if nominated and elected on November 8.

The Daily Herald newspaper recently published an article about Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-15th) and her endorsement of Congressional Candidate Jim Marter, who is running as a Republican for the 14th Congressional District in the western and southwestern suburbs of Chicagoland.
