Has the “Rubio Moment” Given Way to the “Cruz Moment”?

Written by Clint Cline

Not much more than a month ago on the CNBC Republican Debate stage, millions watched Jeb Bush giftwrap for his former protégé the now-legendary “Rubio Moment,” that time when two campaigns heading in opposite directions passed like ships in the political night. Bush’s flaccid single-digit campaign had stagnated. Marco Rubio, following impressive debate showings, had risen above the salt to a top four position, occupying a seat Jeb had reserved for himself near the head of the table.  … Continue Reading

Evangelicals Help Cruz Surge Ahead of Trump in Iowa Poll

Cruz-Plannned-Parenthood

Texas U.S. Senator Ted Cruz is the new GOP frontrunner in Iowa, according to a Monmouth University poll released Monday.

Cruz leads Trump 24 percent to 19 percent in Iowa, which holds its 2016 caucuses on February 1, 2016.

Monmouth noted that Cruz’s lead is the first time he has come out on top in any state polling for the 2016 election cycle.

However, A CNN/ORC poll released Monday, shows Trump still leading in Iowa with 33 percent support to Cruz’s 20 percent.

GOP Media Takedown: A Recipe for Victory

It’s long been known that a leader can gain power by rallying the people against a boogeyman.

And it helps when that boogeyman is real.

When CNBC’s GOP debate moderators couldn’t help but be sanctimonious, supercilious, and self-important Wednesday night, they did more than provoke a response from their intellectual superiors. They did more than further reveal the Establishment Media as a left-wing monolith, further discredit themselves, and further cement in minds that they’re comic-book versions of journalists.… Continue Reading

Republicans’ Media Bias Claims Boosted by Scarcity of Right-Leaning Journalists

LIBERAL-MEDIA

Written by Kelly Riddell
The Washington Times

A mere 7 percent of journalists identify as Republicans, and when they do give money to political campaigns they usually donate to Democrats, lending evidence to Republican presidential candidates’ claims that they are facing a hostile audience when they deal with the press.

As Republican candidates prepare for their fourth debate of the primary season Tuesday in Milwaukee, the people doing the questioning are increasingly in the spotlight, with their motives being questioned by the campaigns, voters and even by their fellow journalists.… Continue Reading

It’s Time to Remove the (!) from Jeb!

Written by Doris O’Brien

Jeb could soon become a burning Bush, flamed-out by poor judgment, inept campaigning, and an unusual display of mean-spiritedness. His self-serving attack on protégé Marco Rubio in the last debate might well be the straw that breaks the back — if not the bank — of the Bush candidacy.

Naturally, the Bush camp is denying all pessimistic prognosticating. And there are plenty of talking heads who still stick to the scenario that Bush could win the GOP nomination.… Continue Reading

CNBC Moderators’ Low Performance Should Be A Lesson To The RNC

By StacyOnTheRight

The CNBC debate is memorable for many reasons, with the complete lack of preparedness of the moderators standing out as unfortunate circumstance number one. At numerous points during the evening, candidates called out the moderators for the low quality of their questions. Becky Quick was obviously biased against the candidates and repeatedly steered the discussion to “Pay Inequality” only to be viciously rebuffed. At one point, Quick couldn’t remember where she’d heard that Donald Trump was critical of Mark Zuckerberg’s immigration stance.… Continue Reading

Questioning Fiorina’s Right-Wing Credentials

Written by Chad Groening

Fiorina is currently in third place in a compilation of polls at RealClearPolitics, trailing Donald Trump and Ben Carson respectively.

Her bump in poll numbers came after the former Hewlett-Packard CEO delivered a strong performance in the September GOP debate, when she challenged Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to watch the undercover Planned Parenthood videos.

Cathie Adams of Texas Eagle Forum claims that Fiorina failed to unseat U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer because Republican voters couldn’t find a “stark contrast” between the Republican challenger and the Democrat incumbent.… Continue Reading

Donald Trump, Civility and Political Correctness

Written by J. Matt Barber

Full disclosure: As goes election 2016, I’m decidedly not in the Donald Trump camp. To compare Trump to Ronald Reagan, as some have done, is like comparing a Hostess Ding Dong to a seven course meal at Osteria Francescana. Though each may please the palate, the latter offers both substance and sustenance, while the former, a quick endorphin fix and empty calories.

Trump is no conservative. He’s a big-government, tax-and-spend liberal who has spent most his life supporting Democrats and Democratic causes.… Continue Reading

Fiorina Led Debate That Was All About Trump

Written by Chad Groening and Billy Davis

Media Research Center reports that 32 of the 73 questions questions either were directed to – or were a reference to – Donald Trump.

Dan Gainor, vice president of MRC Business, says there are several reasons for CNN’s obsession with Trump.

“One of them is ratings,” Gainor says. “Look, they’re a business. They certainly want to get good ratings.”

In fact, CNN posted its best ratings ever – for any of its shows – during the three-hour debate.… Continue Reading

Trump’s Star Predicted to Fade

Tom Pauken, former chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, predicts that Donald Trump will go the GOP convention with “a lot of votes,” but Pauken is unsure it will be enough to “lock up” the nomination.

“I still believe that you’re going to see an alternative to Trump,” he tells OneNewsNow.

Trump, 69, is still enjoying a comfortable lead in the crowded field of GOP candidates. RealClearPolitics shows Trump with a 12-point lead in an “RCP average” of six polls.… Continue Reading
