‘Dangerous’: Milo Yiannopoulos Delights to Provoke

Written by Denyse O’Leary

Yiannopoulos (hereafter Milo), gay conservative provocateur, may need no introduction. Indeed, many people might refuse to read his new book Dangerous even though as of July 28, 2017, it was ranked #1 in Amazon’s “commentary and opinion” books. That would be a pity. The people who would feel most repelled are actually most at risk in the new social media-governed world for which Yiannopoulos, formerly Breitbart’ technology editor, offers insight.

It’s best to begin by clearing away some misunderstandings about Milo.… Continue Reading

Russian Collusion in Democrat Inner Circle?

Written by Karin McQuillan

There has been enthusiastic collusion by the leadership of the Democratic Party with the Russian disinformation campaign to destroy President Donald Trump.  (See “A Brief History of ‘Fake News'” on AmericanThinker.com.)  The Democrat willingness to collude with Russia to overturn our democratically elected president is unprecedented.  There is the infamous case of Ted Kennedy approaching the Kremlin to help Democrats defeat Reagan, but never before has collusion with our enemies by a non-communist party been sustained and widespread.… Continue Reading

CHICAGO: Inside the Biggest Gathering of American Socialists In Decades

Written by Ryan Cooper

Things are looking up for the Democratic Socialists of America. With a membership of 25,000, it is now the largest socialist group in America since the Second World War. And last weekend in Chicago, it held its largest convention, by a considerable margin, in its history.

The event was a fascinating view into an organization that is simultaneously struggling with sudden success and looking to capitalize on fertile conditions to grow even more.… Continue Reading

The ACLU’s Transparent Attack on the Election Integrity Panel

Written by Robert Knight

If you don’t think the Left is terrified by the prospect of clean voter rolls, you might not have heard about the latest ploy by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

The ACLU has sued President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity, charging them with violating federal “transparency” laws.

The suit is a bald attempt to halt the panel’s mission, which is to examine the prevalence of vote fraud in America and to recommend ways to secure the election process.… Continue Reading

Donald Trump’s Pro-Family Remarks in Poland Should Leave Conservatives Optimistic

Written by Joshua Denton

Last week, President Donald Trump gave an inspiring speech while visiting Poland on his way to the Group of 20 economic summit. The speech should give conservatives hope, as Trump made many references to the importance of values, families and faith traditions. It’s certainly encouraging to hear the President take such a pro-family stance as the current leader of the free world.

Americans, Poles, and much of the rest of Europe value individual freedom and sovereignty.… Continue Reading

Double Standards in the War between White House and Media

Written by Michael Medved

For all his vast power, the President of the United States—any president—is always at a structural disadvantage in a “war” with the media. The First Amendment protects press rights to criticize the government, and everyone expects such criticism. But if government—or the president, as head of government—strikes back by assailing media, there’s an uneasy hint of bullying or oppression.

President Donald Trump isn’t exceptional in generating media hostility, but Barack Obama was exceptional in avoiding such scrutiny for eight years.… Continue Reading

Ineffective GOP Messaging Leads to Tax Hikes Without Reforms Every Time

Written by John Biver

Every time state spending increases and taxes are raised, Republicans and conservatives issue statements expressing disappointment and disgust with those who played a part in making it happen. For many of us watching this Illinois tax and spend train wreck year after year, these statements are tiresome.

Bad things happen. Our side reacts to those bad things with statements.

These pages have outlined and linked to other articles explaining that Illinois’ problem is a simple math problem.… Continue Reading

Exposé of Fake News Machine CNN

Written by Laurie Higgins

A bombshell undercover video narrated by James O’Keefe and released on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, shows CNN supervising producer John Bonifield admitting that the Trump collusion tale is “mostly bullsh*t” that CNN pushes because it’s a ratings blockbuster.

Bonifield admits what is obvious to many Americans about the mainstream media’s evidence for the endless Russia story: “We don’t have any big giant proof….I just feel like they don’t really have it, but they want to keep digging.”… Continue Reading

The Paternalism of Paid Parental Leave

Written by Robert Verbuggen

The center-right American Enterprise Institute and the center-left Brookings Institution have a new report about paid parental leave. The members of their working group disagreed about much, but they were able to put forward a compromise plan. In this plan, new mothers and fathers would be able to take eight weeks off, with 70 percent of their usual compensation paid to them by the government, up to $600 per week. The program would be funded by a small payroll tax on all workers.… Continue Reading

One Sure Thing: Trump Beats Impeachment

Written by Michael Medved

Despite the public furor surrounding James Comey’s U.S. Senate testimony, there remains only one certainty about the future of the Donald Trump administration: the president will not be forced from office through the Constitutional impeachment process. Pundits and politicos who agitate for using that mechanism to end the Age of Trump ignore history, delude themselves and damage the country.

Only three presidents of the prior 44 have faced serious drives for their impeachment:

Andrew Johnson in 1868, Richard Nixon in 1974 and Bill Clinton in 1998.… Continue Reading
