Pro-Christmas, Pro-Family and Unashamed

Written by David E. Smith

For as long as I can remember, Family PAC’s Paul Caprio has strongly urged conservative candidates to send Christmas cards to primary voters in their districts. At first I thought this wasn’t the best use of campaign resources and not a very policy-centric way to communicate to would-be voters. Yet, as I considered the up-side of a pro-Christmas, pro-family mailer, I became convinced of its genius. In fact, I now believe that my initial response severely underestimated it’s importance.… Continue Reading

SPOTLIGHT: Parental Notice, Right of Conscience, and Maps

Written by Jenna Smith

Money, power, and control – it seems that this trio are at the root of most of the decisions, directives, and policies in Illinois. In their conversation at the recent Illinois Conservative Union conference, Monte Larrick and current State Senator and gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey discuss several issues where the desire for power and wealth appears to be blinding our legislators to the express will of their constituents.

Larrick and Bailey specifically address proposed Illinois Senate Floor amendments to the Parental Notice of Abortion Act (HB 3173_ and the Healthcare Right of Conscience Act (SB 1169), as well as the Democrats’ self-serving remap efforts.… Continue Reading

Written by Benjamin Smith

Next year, Illinois voters will have the opportunity to cast their vote for gubernatorial candidates in the March 15, 2022 primary election. If we surveyed citizens around the state, I believe most everyone, regardless of political affiliation, would say they would vote for a candidate that offers hope, displays bold and courageous leadership, and embraces transparency and accountability.

This edition of Spotlight features Monte Larrick’s interview with just such an individual: Darren Bailey (R-Louisville), current Illinois state senator (formerly a state representative) and Republican candidate for governor.… Continue Reading

“Demanding Transparency and Accountability” (Illinois Family Spotlight #252)

Those who love the darkness don’t want to come into the light. They flee like so many cockroaches to the shadows. As the Scriptures say, men loved the darkness rather than light, for fear their deeds would be exposed. Newly minted Illinois state senator (and former state representative) Darren Bailey is not one of those swamp roaches. His career in Springfield has been in exposing the utter incompetence, or the rank sinful competence exhibited by Illinois government.… Continue Reading

Rep. Bailey: The Progressive Punishment Tax is WRONG for Illinois!

Written by State Representative Darren Bailey

In addition to the candidates on the November 3rd ballot is an important issue that will have a far-reaching impact on Illinois. Voters will be asked to consider changing Illinois’ income tax from a flat tax to a graduated or “progressive” tax.

The Democrats have labeled it the “Fair Tax” and it is a fraud. When we consider the arguments and promises tied to the previous two massive state income tax increases, we can conclude when it comes to politics, there’s never a “money back guarantee.” … Continue Reading

Illinoisans Protest Governor Pritzker’s Tyrannical Orders

Written by Austin Scott Davies

On Saturday, over a thousand Illinois citizens came together at the State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois, to declare their God-given rights in the face of oppression by Governor J.B. Pritzker and his administration. Since Pritzker declared every county in Illinois a disaster on March 9, 2020, he has issued executive orders that far exceed his authority and trample on the rights of Illinois citizens. Thousands of businesses and churches have been shuttered and thousands of livelihoods have been needlessly destroyed with no regard for constitutional constraints on government overreach.… Continue Reading
