Both major political parties are now locked in a death struggle. The irony is that they are attempting not to annihilate each other, but rather to survive the onslaught of the voters. No longer is the struggle between Democrat and Republican; it is between the landed gentry and the peasants.
Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are the villains, as far as the ensconced parties are concerned. Thus, we have the very bizarre spectacle of Republicans saying that, in a general election, they will defect, preferring Hillary Clinton to Trump, and Democrats vowing to vote for Trump rather than for Clinton. … Continue Reading

Remember those infamous Jay Leno Show man on the street interviews? It’s always painful to watch people reveal their ignorance.
There are reports that there is a majority on the Illinois Republican Party Platform Committee who aren’t exactly well-read. Get ready to cringe.
The word on the street is that there are geniuses who think endorsing the radical left-wing (cultural Marxist) LGBT agenda is a good fit for the GOP. … Continue Reading

Bernie Sanders’ lock on young people has been a constant throughout the Democratic presidential primaries. Exit polling shows he won 83% of voters under 30 in Pennsylvania last month, 74% in Indiana last week and 71% in West Virginia on Tuesday.
Why are Millennials so enamored of Sanders? Most hypotheses credit their enthusiasm for sweeping moral goals such as transparency, fairness and justice. Perhaps young voters prefer Sanders’ call for “revolution” over Hillary Clinton’s more pragmatic incrementalism. … Continue Reading

An O’Fallon, Missouri man was arrested on April 23 after allegedly secretly filming women in a Target dressing room.
Matthew Foerstel, 26, faces felony charges for invasion of privacy in the second degree and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The Brentwood Police Department arrested Foerstel on April 23 after he allegedly held a camera phone under a dressing room door while a female shopper tried on swim suits at the Target store in Brentwood.… Continue Reading

John Kasich said on Sunday that he would “probably not” sign a bill preventing biological males from using women’s restrooms, locker rooms, and showers – and those who are hung up on the issue should “take a deep breath,” “chill out,” and “get over it.”
“Face the Nation” moderator John Dickerson ended his interview with the the Ohio governor and presidential hopeful by asking if Kasich would sign a bill similar to the one enacted by North Carolina Gov.… Continue Reading

“Affluenza” is the new term for youth who grow unstable due to wealth. “Pauperenza” is my term for Millennials who lose touch with reality due to poverty. Pop star Justin Bieber gets arrested in Miami Beach for getting high and clocking 136 mph while drag racing in a Lamborghini. Bernie Sanders fans pout and shout: Free College! Universal Debt Forgiveness! $15 Minimum Wage! Rich or poor, the kids are not all right.… Continue Reading

Ever wonder how Bernie Sanders’ brand of “democratic socialism” differs from socialism in general, which has wreaked havoc all over the world?
The short answer is: only by degree. Progressives of all stripes work to establish “equality” by empowering governments. The difference is their place on the axis of forced egalitarianism.
Like other democratic socialists, the Vermont Democrat rejects communism, National Socialism (Nazis), fascism and other variants as anti-democratic. The democratic socialists insist that they can preserve human liberties while forcing everyone into communal economic arrangements. … Continue Reading

Many people of mature years are amazed at how many young people have voted for Senator Bernie Sanders, and are enthusiastic about the socialism he preaches.
Many of those older people have lived long enough to have seen socialism fail, time and again, in countries around the world. Venezuela, with all its rich oil resources, is currently on the verge of economic collapse, after its heady fling with socialism.
But, most of the young have missed all that, and their dumbed-down education is far more likely to present the inspiring rhetoric of socialism than to present its dismal track record.… Continue Reading

While political pundits ponder the reasons for presidential candidate Bernie Sanders’s success with his socialist message among younger voters, they might also consider the “power of myth” as evidenced by human behavior.
Historian Joseph Campbell’s reflections on the topic aired on PBS in the mid-1980s and were later published in 1988 under the title The Power of Myth. Campbell documented and analyzed recurring basic themes embedded in the folklore and mythology of most every culture…good vs.… Continue Reading
Dear Trump supporters:
America hears you.
You are angry with the gridlock caused by the petty bickering of professional politicians more interested in being lackeys to lobbyists and other big-money donors than in improving the lives of average wage-earning Americans. Money, jobs and opportunities seem to flow upstream to those who already have everything, rather than downstream to those most in need. Truly, this is how most Americans feel.
The question for this election is: Which candidate will actually do something about it?… Continue Reading
