The unraveling of Nightly News anchor Brian Williams‘s accounts of his reporting in Iraq and Katrina-ravaged New Orleans has become a black mark on NBC News’s reputation. A detailed account in Thursday’s Washington Post of the decision to suspend Williams for six months without pay appears to demonstrate how seriously the Peacock Network has taken the newsman’s transgression—NBC Universal’s CEO Steve Burke even considered firing Williams outright.
Here’s how the Post describes it, citing anonymous NBC officials:
The suspension was the culmination of a long period of internal concerns.

In October 2014, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) put Dr. Benjamin Carson on its “Extremist Watch List.” Why? Because the good Christian doctor holds to a traditional and orthodox view of marriage: one man and one woman.
Who else is on this “Extremist Watch List“? Neo-Nazis, KKK members and skinheads.
This is beyond outrageous, and clearly demonstrates how out-of-touch this far left organization has become. If they were willing to label, slander and malign Dr.… Continue Reading

Here’s something that many Americans — including some of the smartest and most educated among us — don’t know: The official unemployment rate, as reported by the U.S. Department of Labor, is extremely misleading.
Right now, we’re hearing much celebrating from the media, the White House and Wall Street about how unemployment is “down” to 5.6%. The cheerleading for this number is deafening. The media loves a comeback story, the White House wants to score political points and Wall Street would like you to stay in the market.… Continue Reading

Far too many Republican politicians have decided to keep their heads down and their mouths shut when it comes to the very devisive and controversial issue of marriage redefinition. However, that is not the case with U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and 11 fellow Senators. They have re-introduced the State Marriage Defense Act, which upholds the traditional understanding and definition of marriage and protects states from the federal government’s efforts to force any other definition upon them.… Continue Reading

An Ohio-based pro-family activist is disappointed that House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) is refusing to take a stand for traditional marriage.
The U.S. Supreme Court recently announced that it will hear cases from four states that have statutes that only permit marriage between one man and one woman. The high court is expected to decide whether laws can limit marriage to one man and one woman and whether states are legally required to recognize same-sex unions from other states.… Continue Reading
A nationwide online poll taken by the Drudge Report reveals that Republican Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is the hands-down favorite for the 2016 GOP presidential election so far, taking nearly half the total votes – a number that almost reached half a million by the close of the poll.
With former two-time Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney now out of the running, Walker has shown great promise at the polls, which the former Massachusetts governor dominated before his departure from the race.… Continue Reading
Illinois is listed as the 14th most liberal state in the Union.
Written by Frank Newport
Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana are the most right-leaning states in the union, with between 46% and 49% of residents in each identifying as politically conservative. Massachusetts, Vermont and Hawaii are the most left-leaning, with 30% of residents in each of those states identifying as liberal.
The top 10 most conservative states in 2014 are very similar to the top 10 in 2013, with the exception of Louisiana, which was not in the top 10 list in 2013, but replaced Wyoming in the top 10 this year.

“The theocrats are coming!” shriek some sentinels of the contemporary political battlefield every time a Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson, Rick Perry, or Bobby Jindal clear their throats.
Paul Revere, having seen the lanterns in Boston’s Christ Church bell-tower, shouted out, “The British are coming!” Today’s harbingers of theocratic threat get their signals from the towers of secularity, some latticed with ivy, others in the form of broadcasting antennae, and still more in the shape of looming skyscrapers.… Continue Reading

As a former Baptist pastor, potential Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee blasted what he considers a theologically incorrect and politically correct concept of Christians evolving their stance on same-sex “marriage” — a process President Barack Obama proclaimed he underwent before fully endorsing the homosexual agenda in regards to marriage, military policy and LGBT “rights” across America.
Huckabee slammed the idea of punishing Christians for objecting to same-sex marriage earlier this week on CNN’s State of the Union program, arguing that religious freedom guaranteed by the U.S.… Continue Reading

President Barack Obama used the occasion of the National Prayer Breakfast to once again defend Islam. (Talk about chutzpah!) He did it using a tactic he has used before, but never so boldly.
Speaking before an event sponsored by an organization which professes “that Jesus transcends all forms of government and belief,” Obama lectured his audience, saying “. . . people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ,” citing “the Crusades and the Inquisition .… Continue Reading
If you want to spend your life nursing grievances, you will never run out of grievances to nurse, regardless of what color your skin is. It’s clear that Barack Obama and Eric Holder have chosen to nurse their grievances and look for opportunities for “payback.”

In his recent trip to India, President Barack Obama repeated a long-standing pattern of his — denigrating the United States to foreign audiences. He said that he had been discriminated against because of his skin color in America, a country in which there is, even now, “terrible poverty.”… Continue Reading
