Recently revealed federal data shows that in December we saw 302,000 migrant encounters at the border, shattering the previous record of 269,000 back in September. That is twice the population size of Joliet and three times the population of Peoria — in a single month. Among those who came in were 19 individuals on the Terror Watch List.
While the Biden Administration has ignored this ongoing crisis over the past three years, former State Senator Darren Bailey and 12th District Congressional candidate says that “the border crisis is the number one threat to our nation.”… Continue Reading

Whenever I hear the White House insist the border is secure, inflation is no problem, and that boys are really girls if they feel like it, I look around for Rod Serling.
You half expect to see the vintage TV show host emerge from a misty backdrop to say, “What you’re seeing is a replica of reality, not reality itself. You have been transported to a parallel universe where evil is good, wrong is right and bitter is sweet.… Continue Reading

Donald Trump’s early primary victories have started the “newsroom debates” again. Associated Press media reporter David Bauder penned a story headlined “Trump’s live appearances pose a riddle that news executives still haven’t solved.”
So, when a newsworthy event happens — like Trump’s victory speech after the New Hampshire primary — the pro-Biden networks worry “Trump will make false statements that are difficult, if not impossible, to correct in real time — or go completely off script with something entirely unexpected.”… Continue Reading

Six of the nine U.S. Supreme Court justices have been appointed by Republicans, yet red states are now being prevented by federal courts from keeping boys out of girls’ bathrooms. What was the point of the generation-long battle for control of the high court?
A three-judge panel for the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in August upheld a lower court ruling forcing the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville, Indiana, to allow people to enter the school bathrooms of their choice, not the one that matches their sex.… Continue Reading

Creatio ex nihilo is a Latin phrase used to describe a central theological point of Christianity. It’s an axiom that captures the first event of Genesis: “In the beginning, God created.”
It says it is God and God alone who can take nothing and turn it into something. He’s the one who sets the field and draws the boundaries. He’s the one who puts the goals in place. He is responsible for the rules and the definitions.… Continue Reading

The Democrats’ plan to “save democracy” is pretty clear.
Their first order of business is to defeat former President Donald J. Trump by any means possible, wielding the legal system like a stiletto.
The second is to get rid of as many election integrity safeguards as possible. More about that in a moment, with Virginia as a striking example.
Mr. Trump, whose momentum toward the GOP nomination may be unstoppable, is being hounded on absurd charges by Democratic prosecutors in Democratic-run courts in four jurisdictions with jury pools dominated by Democrats.… Continue Reading

The Biden Administration’s intentional and flagrant disregard for national security has dramatically fostered and escalated an ongoing crisis at our southern border as record levels of illegal immigrants and deadly drugs pour into our nation. We also cannot overstate the egregious problem of human trafficking that has exploded in scope over the past few years.
Additionally, more than a few political pundits have expressed their grave concerns about the alarming number of military-age men streaming in through the southern U.S.… Continue Reading

Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, chronicled neurotic disorders, including “projection” and other psychological defense mechanisms.
Projection occurs when someone projects their own feelings, motives, behaviors and thoughts onto others. It’s a way of coping with one’s own insecurities and to blame one’s problems on others.
Another Freudian concept is denial. That’s when someone dismisses external reality and formulates his or her own “truth.”
Both disorders are not only rampant among America’s political left but have become tools in their war on common sense, truth and decency.… Continue Reading

I am very disappointed to have to send this email alert to you today, but you need to know what is going on in our village. Crete Village Trustee Katrina Seifert recently proposed updating the Village seal, thinking it would help bring people and businesses into our community.
Thankfully, Trustees Steve Bruns and Steve Johnson voted against making a change to the village seal.
At the January 8th meeting, Trustee Seifert presented the new village seal.… Continue Reading

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker is back in front of his liberal friends in the news media to complain about the immigration crisis, which is trickling up to the Midwest.
As you may remember, Pritzker sent an open letter to President Joe Biden three months ago begging for federal tax resources to deal with the so-called “asylum seekers” being bussed to Illinois from Texas. Not once in this three-page appeal did he ask the administration to shut down the border or reinstate the quasi-successful “Remain in Mexico” policy of the Trump Administration.… Continue Reading
