Trump and the Media War

Written by Jan LaRue

The anti-Trump media are comparing President Donald Trump to Joseph Stalin because the president fires back at his critics.

An allusion to the wisdom of philosophers residing in the joint applies to media whiners: “if you can’t do the time, don’t do the slime.”

The president’s daily dose of name-calling by media includes the following: he’s Hitler, Stalin, racist, Mussolini, Mao, Pol Pot, racist, Nero, racist, mentally deranged, tyrant, racist, unfit, fascist, racist, dictator, hateful, racist, liar, illegitimate, colluder of all things Russian, schmuck, jackass, warmonger, and racist, and that’s just MSNBC.… Continue Reading

SPOTLIGHT: Implications of “Recreational” Marijuana

Written by David E. Smith

If you listen to only one Spotlight podcast this year, please listen to this one!

Monte Larrick and I are joined by Jo McGuire, Colorado native and Chairman of the Board of the National Drug & Alcohol Screening Association, for an eye-opening discussion of the devastation that five years of legalized marijuana has brought to the state of Colorado. In the 2018 lame duck Veto Session in Springfield (November 13-15 and 27-29), Illinois state lawmakers could vote to fully legalize marijuana in Illinois.… Continue Reading

Salacious Scandal Leads to Scramble for New GOP Nominee

Written by Bonnie Quirke

Due to an unexpected resignation in the 51st Legislative District, which was held by State Representative Nick Sauer (R-Libertyville), Republican Lake County Chairman Mark Shaw will need to appoint a replacement.

Sauer resigned from the Illinois House after a bombshell revelation involving pornographic photos of his ex-girlfriend. Multiple sources report that Sauer created a fake Instagram account on which he posted these photos in order to lure men into graphic sexual conversations with him.Continue Reading

Why People Keep Falling for Socialism, Despite the Evidence

Written by Walter E. Williams

Poverty is no mystery, and it’s easily avoidable.

The poverty line that the Census Bureau used in 2016 for a single person was an income of $12,486 that year. For a two-person household, it was $16,072, and for a four-person household, it was $24,755.

To beat those poverty thresholds is fairly simple. Here’s the road map: complete high school; get a job, any kind of a job; get married before having children; and be a law-abiding citizen.… Continue Reading

Freeing People from Left-Wing Lies

Written by Tom Trinko

The majority of Democratic voters are victims of a deliberate conspiracy by the leftist media, academia, and the Deep State to mislead them through lies of omission and commission.

A recent Pew survey shows that leftists are much more likely not to want to associate with people who don’t share their political views than are conservatives.  Furthermore, leftists are more likely not to know any conservatives.

Look at the electoral map from 2016 – the blue areas are all tiny and tightly grouped.… Continue Reading

SPOTLIGHT: Kavanaugh, Face the Truth, and Saving Innocent Lives

Written by Jenna Liz

During the most recent Face the Truth tour, Monte Larrick had a chance to interview Eric Shceidler, the executive director of the Pro Life Action League.  Their conversation takes place near the intersection of 159th Street and LaGrange road in Orland Park, one of the many places where silent protesters held up posters of the victims of abortion.

During this episode, Monte and Eric cover the importance of showing the graphic and painful pictures of terminated babies to commuters.… Continue Reading

Soros Just Quadrupled Lobbying Expenditures

Written by Thomas Lifson

George Soros must be really worried by all the progress President Trump is making. Soros’s Open Society Policy Center, the 501 (c)(4) nonprofit organization[i] that he sponsors spent more money lobbying the federal government last quarter than it has ever spent in its history. Joe Shoffstall reports in The Free Beacon that the Open Society Policy Center:

…reported spending $10.37 million between April 1 and June 30—an increase of nearly $8 million from the first quarter of the year when the center reported spending $2.52 million on its lobbying efforts.

SPOTLIGHT: Hoosier Gonna Pick in November?

On this edition of Spotlight, David Smith and Monte Larrick reach out across the border to usher in their guest – but the border we’re referring to might not be the first one that comes to mind. Micah Clark, Executive Director of American Family Association of Indiana, joins our hosts to talk about a number of key topics in the run-up to the November election.

The podcast begins with a discussion of President Trump’s nominee for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS), Brett Kavanaugh.… Continue Reading

Don’t Let Them “Bork” Judge Kavanaugh

Written by Dr. Jerry Newcombe

Soon the U.S. Senate will hold hearings as to whether or not to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court. One can only imagine the fireworks to come.

Beware of the Saul Alinsky model of the politics of personal destruction. Saul Alinksy, a Marxist and the father of the community organizers, wrote Rules for Radicals (1971), in which he states, “In a fight almost anything goes. It almost reaches the point where you stop to apologize if a chance blow lands above the belt” (pp.… Continue Reading

The Real Threat to American Democracy

Written by Tom Trinko

The real danger to American democracy doesn’t come from Russia.  The Russians had little impact on the last election, succeeding only in revealing that the DNC was breaking its own rules to suppress Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders.

Unfortunately, there are people who are working to undermine American democracy.  Here’s a short list of some of them:

1. Antifa: The Washington Post’s new slogan is “Democracy dies in darkness.”  But most of the left either overtly or tacitly approves of the use of violence by Antifa to silence voices it doesn’t like.  … Continue Reading
