SPOTLIGHT: Hoosier Gonna Pick in November?

On this edition of Spotlight, David Smith and Monte Larrick reach out across the border to usher in their guest – but the border we’re referring to might not be the first one that comes to mind. Micah Clark, Executive Director of American Family Association of Indiana, joins our hosts to talk about a number of key topics in the run-up to the November election.

The podcast begins with a discussion of President Trump’s nominee for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS), Brett Kavanaugh. Interestingly enough, how the incumbent Democratic U.S. Senator from Indiana, Joe Donnelly, votes on the Kavanaugh nomination could determine if he holds onto his seat or if he will be unseated by Republican challenger, Mike Braun. Clark underscores the importance of voting to elect and retain conservative candidates in order to maintain the Republican majority in the U.S. Senate, as well as to bolster the chances of confirming other pro-life/pro-family nominees to the SCOUTS, as vacancies arise.

Also in this episode, Micah shares some of the victories Indiana conservatives have gained in regard to sex education in public schools (spoiler alert: what he has to say may cause you to consider a change of residency). He closes out the podcast by emphasizing the need for the Republican party to not water down policy, but instead hold fast to the conservative values and other distinctives that comprise its foundation.
