The confirmation hearings in the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson have been a relatively peaceful affair. In comparison to the ruthless attacks on Justice Brett Kavanaugh and Justice Amy Coney Barrett, there has been relative civility surrounding the D.C Court of Appeals judge. While it is likely that Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson will be confirmed, it is good to take a dive into her actual rulings and responses to questioning, not just her resume.

In the waning days of the 2022 spring session, the Illinois General Assembly passed SB 3215, "Mental Health Validation Act". The legislation, which passed unanimously in the Illinois Senate on February 23, was taken up in the Illinois House on Wednesday, March 30, and passed by a vote of 76 to 38.

This proposal, if signed into law by Gov. JB Pritzker, will "validate" referenda to create a 708 Mental Health Board, under the Community Mental Health Act but without Property Tax Extension Limitation Law (PTELL) language legal retroactive to January 1, 1994.

The folks at Disney — who many moons ago were seen as an entertainment factory for children — have been heavily pressured into submission on a proposed law in Florida that dares to suggest, "Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards."

Popular commentator Dave Rubin has stirred up some controversy in a recent tweet. The tweet shows Dave Rubin and his “husband” holding two different sonograms with a sign in the middle that says, “Coming Soon” and gives two dates for “Baby 1” and “Baby 2.” This was the announcement for Dave Rubin and his partner’s attempt at having a child with two different surrogates, one which will carry Rubin’s child and the other which will carry his partner’s child.
