Corporate Social Responsibility and its Newest Version: ESG

Written by Dr. Mark W. Hendrickson

What is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)? Wikipedia defines CSR as “a form of … private business self-regulation which aims to contribute to societal goals of a philanthropic, activist, or charitable nature.” That seems rather vague, even amorphous. As Wikipedia acknowledges, “A wide variety of definitions have been developed but with little consensus.”

Investopedia says that CSR “helps a company be socially accountable to itself, its stakeholders, and the public” and that CSR helps companies be aware of their impact “on all aspects of society, including economic, social, and environmental.”

SPOTLIGHT: How You Can Stand Against Government Tyrants

Written by Lynn Bowman Tabb

“Information is power” and the Medical Freedom vs. Medical Tyranny Forum hosted by Illinois Family Institute was clearly an evening of empowerment! Attended by an estimated 500 people–young and old alike–the audience, rapt with attention, benefitted from the insights of Dr. Simone Gold*, MD,FD, founder of America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS).

In her presentation on May 17, 2022, Dr. Gold provided energy-packed insight around this idea penned by Thomas Jefferson to Charles Yancey, ironically on January 6, 1816:

“If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.”

Freedom or Totalitarianism – Which Will “We The People” Choose?

Written by Oliver L. North and David Goetsch

We now know the Aug 8, 2022 raid on former President Donald Trump’s home at Mar-A-Lago, was authorized by a federal judge at the request of U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland. We also know more than forty federal prosecutors, FBI agents, and “others” participated in what Mr. Garland called a “search” of the former president’s home “to prevent the destruction of evidence” in criminal activity.

No former president of the United States has ever been subjected to such indignity.

An IRS That’s Armed and Dangerous

Written by Stephen Moore

The Biden administration has a lot of nerve proposing to double the budget of the Internal Revenue Service and add 87,000 employees.

This plan is set to become law as part of the soon-to-be-enacted Inflation Reduction Act. And it comes around the same time as the outrageous FBI raid of former President Donald Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago compound in Palm Beach, Florida. The Biden administration has converted the FBI and the Justice Department into functionaries of the Democratic Party’s character assassination campaign.… Continue Reading

Why Are no Democrats Prosecuted by Garland’s DOJ?

Written by Dr. Everett Piper

On Wednesday, Aug. 10, Merrick Garland, the United States Attorney General, confidently strutted to the national podium and asserted, “No person is above the law in this country. I can’t say it any more clearly than that.” He then went further: “There is nothing … which prevents us from investigating anyone — anyone — who’s criminally responsible …”

As principled as that all sounds, one can’t help but ask Mr. … Continue Reading

Election Integrity: Election Judges and Poll Watchers Needed

Written by John Biver

Even though the General Election isn’t until November 8, 2022, it isn’t too early to begin considering serving as an Election Judge or a Poll Watcher. Both positions, created by state statute, play an important role in insuring that our elections are conducted according to law.

Since Illinois is a state famous for registered voters residing in cemeteries who vote for Democratic Party candidates, preventing voter fraud is one of the most important tasks for the Judges and Poll Watcher.… Continue Reading

Hospitals Need to Defer to Families on Life-and-Death Issues

Written by Betsy McCaughey

Hospitals need to back off their authoritarian “we know best” posture and respect what a patient’s family wants.

At 10 a.m. Saturday, Royal London Hospital stopped life support for 12-year-old Archie Battersbee, against his parents’ wishes. He was dead by 12.15 p.m. Millions had followed his case since April, when his mother found him unconscious on the floor.

Apparently, he took a dangerous dare promoted on TikTok to hold his breath until he blacked out.… Continue Reading

Biden Puts IRS Funding Ahead of Military and Border Security

Written by Stephen Moore

Everyone should be deeply troubled by the recent report that the Army is on pace to miss its recruiting goal by dozens of thousands of troops and by the report that followed a few days later, alleging that the Border Patrol is running short of agents in Arizona and Texas. The border is so porous these days that even mayors of sanctuary cities are starting to complain about illegal immigration.

So, what is Congress doing about these crises?… Continue Reading

Impatient Democrats Hear The Clock Ticking

Written by Robert Knight

Once upon a time, Democrats were terrified that a power-mad White House would ignore the “will of the people.” They warned of dire consequences if the president did end-runs around the U.S. Congress.

That was between 2017 and 2021. They subverted the Trump presidency every way they could while he painted within constitutional lines. Now, with an eye on November, they are urging President Biden to go “beast mode.” He already has.… Continue Reading
