As we close in on a month out from the first Democrat presidential debate, and as the number of declared candidates approaches an absurd 25, there’s trouble brewing in the top tier.
I’ve said from the beginning that despite his robust poll numbers I don’t see any way how former Vice President Joe Biden earns his party’s nomination. He isn’t woke enough, he doesn’t check the right intersectionality boxes, and he’s notoriously creepy around professional women.… Continue Reading

Yesterday afternoon, the Illinois House Democrat Caucus met for 2-3 hours to discuss, among other things, the grotesquely misnamed “Reproductive Health Act.” If passed into law, this legislation would dramatically expand abortion–including Medicaid abortions–and usurp parental rights. We expect that the original proposal will be amended and a new (shell) bill number assigned.
Personal PAC, Planned Parenthood of Illinois, the ACLU of Illinois, along with State Representatives Kelly Cassidy (D-Chicago), Sara Feigenholtz (D-Chicago) and Robyn Gabel (D-Evanston) are pushing hard to revive this deadly measure before they adjourn for the summer on May 31st.… Continue Reading

Another week in the news, and it is now irrefutable. The Democratic Party has officially lost its mind. The “progressive” left is truly mad.
This party — the Democratic Party — a party that for decades was led by some of our nation’s greats; men like FDR, Harry Truman, John F. Kennedy and LBJ; a party that defended America against the aggression of the Empire of the Rising Sun, a party that stood resolute in the face of the evils of Nazi socialism; a party that stopped the global incrementalism of the USSR; a party that fought the barbarism of Ho Chi Minh; this party — the Democratic Party — is now a party without sanity and without a soul.… Continue Reading

Increased coverage of the push to legalize high potency marijuana in Illinois has allowed another legislative movement – one that would expand access to an equally addictive behavior – to stealthily gain momentum. It’s time for Spotlight to cut through the shadows and reveal the dangers of Illinois lawmakers’ intentions to legalize internet and sports gambling in our state.
Anita Bedell, Executive Director of ILCAAAP, Illinois Church Action on Alcohol & Addiction Problems, joins Monte Larrick to discuss the devastating effects gambling expansion will bring to the Land of Lincoln.… Continue Reading

So, when the U.S. Supreme Court numbered abortion among our precious constitutional rights, we expected everlasting bliss? Anything but the present knock-down-drag-out over Roe v. Wade and its prospects for survival?
I mean, we’re stunned to see state legislatures moving to outlaw abortion? Why? On what grounds? America is presently absorbing a major political science lesson. To wit, a social revolution commenced and overseen by a coterie of philosopher kings — Platonic guardians, you could say — is a non-starter.… Continue Reading

Alabama’s mostly Republican lawmakers and governor passed a strong abortion ban this week, and liberals are fit to be tied.
“Today, I signed into law the Alabama Human Life Protection Act, a bill that was approved by overwhelming majorities in both chambers of the legislature,” said Gov. Kay Ivey. “To the bill’s many supporters, this legislation stands as a powerful testament to Alabamians’ deeply held belief that every life is precious and that every life is a sacred gift from God.”… Continue Reading

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey signed a bill on May 14 protecting unborn babies from the slaughter of abortion. The vote wasn’t close in the state legislature: 74-3 in the House, 25-6 in the Senate.
One more state has come to its senses.
There’s a wave of pro-life bills being passed in the Southern states. First came the “heartbeat” bills stopping abortions after a baby’s heartbeat can be detected (around six weeks).… Continue Reading

The next time a Hollywood actor or actress tries to persuade or impress you with their profound knowledge and insights on political or world affairs, keep a few things in mind.
Never forget that the word “actor” comes from the Greek word “hypokrites,” which means “an actor” or “a stage player.”
Of course, many actors and actresses throughout history and today are incredibly gifted, and have created and will continue to create memorable stage plays and films that impact society for good.… Continue Reading

Following the vote in Alabama to ban all abortions except in cases where pregnancies threaten the life of the mother, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)—the ideological leader of the Depraved Party—tweeted this:
Abortion bans aren’t just about controlling women’s bodies. They’re about controlling women’s sexuality. Owning women. From limiting birth control to banning comprehensive sex ed, US religious fundamentalists are working hard to outlaw sex that falls outside their theology.
Ultimately, this is about women’s power.
