Republicans Ignore Abortion as a Wedge Issue

Written by Cal Skinner
McHenry County Blog – Former Illinois State Representative

In 2010 State Senator Bill Brady (R-Bloomington) lost the gubernatorial race to Pat Quinn by 31,834 votes–less than one percentage point. Brady took a pounding from the pro-abortion Personal PAC’s television ads starting in early August.

Unlike Bill Clinton in his 1992 contest against George Bush, Brady never responded when he was attacked. On the abortion issue, he stood there like a punching bag and took the blows.… Continue Reading “Republicans Ignore Abortion as a Wedge Issue”

New Jeanne Ives for Governor Ad Highlights Leftist Personal PAC’s Support of Rauner

Written by John Biver

A new ad for the Jeanne Ives for Governor campaign titled “Rauner’s Friends” brings attention to the support Bruce Rauner is receiving from radical left-wing organizations like Personal PAC.

The ad points out that Personal PAC has spent four million dollars “helping Mike Madigan defeat conservatives.” Why would a pro-Madigan political action committee that opposes conservatives support a Republican governor for re-election?

The ad explains: “Personal PAC is a pro-abortion group with the history of also funding Planned Parenthood.”

While the Leftist Personal PAC supports “Republican” Bruce Rauner, it is attacking Rauner’s Republican primary opponent Jeanne Ives.… Continue Reading “New Jeanne Ives for Governor Ad Highlights Leftist Personal PAC’s Support of Rauner”

Politics or Babies? What’s a Governor to do?

Written by Kathy Valente

Politico recently reported that Governor Rauner’s “ongoing struggle with the politics of a controversial abortion bill hasn’t gone unnoticed by potential opponents.” A Democrat opponent in the 2018 gubernatorial race, J.B. Pritzker, has capitalized on “Rauner’s indecision with HB 40 by releasing a new statewide TV ad where the billionaire Democrat declares if he’s elected, HB 40 will be the first bill he signs.”

This comes on the heels of Pritzker, along with the bill’s sponsors, making a video about dropping off 4,000 postcards to Gov.… Continue Reading “Politics or Babies? What’s a Governor to do?”

Rauner’s New Staffer Denounced by Leftists

Written by Laurie Higgins

Following the override of his budget vetoes, Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner has been making over his team, firing several senior staff members and hiring some sorely needed conservatives, which has led to several protest resignations.

In the chaos, someone apparently neglected to do their due diligence on at least one hire who lasted only a day. Ben Tracy, who was hired to be Rauner’s “body man,” which is essentially a gofer for the governor, was fired after a number of inappropriate tweets came to light.… Continue Reading “Rauner’s New Staffer Denounced by Leftists”

Pro-death Pac Attempts To Influence Yet Another Seat In the Illinois House

Written by Richard Hartian

For those of you that think human life is important you may want to take note of significant donations to political candidates from pro-death political action committees (PACs) as in the case of Amanda Mancke who is running to replace State Representative Tom Cross in the Plainfield area.

According to the Illinois State Board of Elections, Ms. Mancke received $2000 from Personal PAC Inc. who’s self proclaimed sole purpose is “To elect pro-choice candidates at state and local level”.… Continue Reading “Pro-death Pac Attempts To Influence Yet Another Seat In the Illinois House”

Arie Friedman Obfuscates

Written by Laurie Higgins

Almost all of those who have emailed us following our exposé of Dr. Arie Friedman’s pro-abortion position have expressed shock about his views, which he does not include on his website and which we have learned are even more extreme than we realized.

Although Friedman did not return IFI’s survey on his positions or the survey sent out by Illinois Citizens for Life, he did express his views to the Buffalo Grove Patch in June:

“Friedman indicated he supports a women’s right to choose.
