SPOTLIGHT: In the Name of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Written by Benjamin Smith

It’s a fact – all laws discriminate. While discrimination based on ethnicity or skin color is never acceptable, discrimination based on behavior is appropriate. Speaking at IFI’s 2017 Worldview Conference, Dr. Frank Turek highlights the lies and hypocrisy surrounding the establishment of protected classes of individuals, public bathroom policies, and transgenderism.

The second half of this podcast features a lively Q&A session that covers immigration, open borders, refugees, diversity, the disinclination of the Church to address difficult issues, and more.… Continue Reading

Progressive Tolerance Is A Self-Congratulating, Virtue-Signaling, One-Way Street

Written by Dr. Everett Piper

I confronted someone recently. I spoke honestly. I was candid.

Maybe I was even a bit harsh. I didn’t pull punches. My goal was not to comfort but to challenge. Frankly, tolerance wasn’t on my mind; truth was. And, what was my friend’s response? “I don’t feel loved.”

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of decades, it’s hard to deny that the basic values that once served as the foundation of our republic have vanished like dust in the wind.… Continue Reading

How ‘Woke’ Conservatives Cancel Their Own Culture

Written by Cliff Kincaid

Conservatives have canceled their own culture. Glenn Beck was a recent example, blasting anti-communist U.S. Senator Joe McCarthy and warning of a new “Red Scare” targeting conservatives. We should have taken the old Red Scare more seriously and could have avoided our current fate.

That fate, recently described by federal Judge Laurence Silberman, is the “ideological consolidation” of the media in the hands of the Democratic Party and its allies. Marx called it the centralization of the means of communications in the hands of the state.… Continue Reading

Why Compromising With The Equality Act Falls Short

Written by John Stonestreet and Timothy D. Padgett

The most recent incarnation of the Equality Act is also the most radical version we have yet seen. It’s worth noting as well that it’s closer to becoming law than any version so far put forward.

As a friend of mine would say, this isn’t magic; it’s math. This Congressional term, the Equality Act passed the U.S. House of Representatives. Though unlikely at this point, a 50-50 tie in the Senate broken by a Democratic White House is feasible, making the Equality Act a live option.

Biden and Corporate Wokesters Assault Election Integrity Laws

Written by Ken Blackwell

Corporate titans tripping over themselves to be “woke” by condemning election integrity laws like Georgia’s S.B. 202 are failing in their duty to focus on running their companies profitably, ironically instead pushing an agenda that other nations show destroys private business under one-party socialist rule.

As a shareholder in the ownership of a major sports franchise and a former partner in a broadcast company, I could do whatever I want with profits once they were in my personal pocket.… Continue Reading

SPOTLIGHT: Anti-Life Legislation, Parental Rights and Sex Trafficking

Written by David E. Smith

Legislation has consequences. Good legislation can bring about beneficial improvements and protections, but unwise legislation can have harmful, devastating effects on the people who must abide by it. With that dichotomy in mind, this edition of Spotlight takes an in-depth look at the ramifications of repealing Illinois’ Parental Notice of Abortion Act by considering its impact on the unborn child, the underage mother-to-be and her parents, compassionate and helpful pregnancy center workers, and Planned Parenthood’s bottom line.… Continue Reading

‘Dear Don Lemon, You’re Not God’

Written by Dr. Everett Piper

Last Monday, CNN host Don Lemon strutted onto the world’s stage to declare with ex-cathedra confidence that Christian orthodoxy and its 2,000 years of church teaching on sexual dignity, sexual morality and about God himself is wrong.

“I think that the Catholic Church and many other churches really need to reexamine themselves,” said Mr. Lemon, “[Their teaching] is not what God is about. God is not about hindering people or even judging people.”… Continue Reading

Americans Must Never Throw in the Towel

Written by David Limbaugh

As we survey our rotting cultural and political landscape, it is tempting, from a worldly perspective, to lose hope for our way of life and our nation. As Christians, we have a greater Hope, one that transcends these worldly problems.

We must always train our focus on Jesus Christ, especially during this holiest of weeks, but let’s not in the meantime abandon our earthly duties — our responsibilities to family, friends, country and values.… Continue Reading
