The debate over religious liberty in America presents conservatives and business leaders with a crucial choice.

In Indiana and Arkansas, large corporations recently joined left-wing activists to bully elected officials into backing away from strong protections for religious liberty. It was disappointing to see conservative leaders so hastily retreat on legislation that would simply allow for an individual or business to claim a right to free exercise of religion in a court of law.… Continue Reading

Former CEO of Hewlett-Packard and likely presidential candidate Carly Fiorina criticized the Democratic Party’s platform of abortion on demand during a recent speech.

Serving as the mistress of ceremonies at the Susan B. Anthony List’s Campaign for Life Gala in Washington, D.C. last week, Fiorina praised the organization and its supporters for their contributions to the pro-life movement.

Fiorina said that while some call the Republican Party’s pro-life platform “extreme,” the Democratic Party’s platform of abortion on demand is hardly mainstream:

Here is what it says: Any abortion, anytime, at any point in a woman’s pregnancy, for any reason, to be paid for by taxpayers.

RUBIO

Written by Michael F. Haverluck

Despite his opposition to legalization of same-sex “marriage,” Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio took a stand on the LGBT side of the argument Sunday, proclaiming that homosexuality is a biological condition — not a choice.

While being interviewed on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” the Florida senator addressed his stance on the legalization of same-sex marriage, arguing that the issue should not be resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court but by individual states.… Continue Reading

As the U.S. Supreme Court readies to hear arguments in favor of same-sex marriage on Tuesday, April 28, Republican presidential candidate U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), urged pastors across America to preach and pray against it because “marriage was God’s idea, and He will preserve it, with or without us.”

“We know that marriage is intended to be sacred, beautiful, and nourishing. If you do not influence your congregation’s understanding of marriage, who will fill the void?… Continue Reading

So the shutdown is over. Here’s Red State’s Erick Erickson on the topic: Advancing. Ever Advancing. Here’s the Heritage Foundation write up this morning: The Deal That’s No Deal. Here’s Rush: Conservatives are Winning on Policy. Regarding Rush’s headline — of course that’s what we thought in the days leading up to election day 2012, too.

Going into this I knew our side didn’t have the communications infrastructure needed to hold on and win.

I believe Hillary Clinton is now telling the truth regarding her views on same-sex “marriage.” I just don’t believe she was telling the truth in the past, especially when she expressed her opposition to it. Can anyone say “Shades of Barack Obama,” whose views on the subject also “evolved”?

When it comes to President Obama, David Axelrod has now confirmed what seemed obvious for years, namely, that he lied about his views on redefining marriage so as not to drive away black (and other morally conservative) voters.… Continue Reading

Religious Freedom Destruction Act

Written by Maggie Gallagher

Rod Dreher is right: the rage of the powerful against Indiana for daring to pass a state RFRA without the consent of the LGBT community marks a dramatic cultural and political inflection point,as I have pointed out in National Review. For the first time, a vanilla religious liberty bill similar to those passed in 19 other states was deemed “antigay” per se, and powerful corporations rushed in to punish the people of Indiana economically for their moral views on liberty.… Continue Reading

Hillary

Written by Frank Newport

Hillary Clinton and her strategy team appear to want to make her quest for the Democratic presidential nomination seem like hard work with nothing taken for granted. As Clinton said at the end of the video posted Sunday announcing her candidacy: “I want to earn your vote.” This “no coronation” approach appears to fit with the feelings of rank-and-file Democrats across the country. The majority of Democrats want her to get the nomination, even more think she will, in fact, be the Democratic nominee, but a majority say that the party would be better off if she has competition and doesn’t just glide to the nomination as a pre-ordained fact of life.

Last week, the head of the Democratic Party made it clear: There should be no limits on abortion, period — and that includes no limits on abortions up tot the day of birth apparently.

Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz responded to a challenge from Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul  to answer the question of whether or not she would support aborting a 7-pound unborn baby.

“Here’s the deal—we always seen to have the debate waaaaay over here on what are the exact details of exemptions, or when it starts,” said Paul, waving his hands to the left.

A pro-life leader says now that Hillary Clinton has officially entered the 2016 presidential race, people need to know that she’s as pro-abortion as an individual can get.

Carol Tobias, the head of National Right to Life Committee, explains where the former secretary of state stands on abortion.

“Hillary Clinton is solidly in the pro-abortion camp,” she tells OneNewsNow. “She supports abortion for all nine months of pregnancy, she supports no limits on abortion and she wants our tax dollars to pay for abortions.”… Continue Reading
