STUDY: Trump Won Because Democrats Alienated Them With Their Culture War

Written by Ben Shapiro

Since President Trump’s election victory, we’ve heard experts proclaiming that it was Trump’s blue collar appeal that led him to the win. Free trade left Americans in rust belt states behind; Trump promised to quash that free trade. Government subsidies went only to areas beyond the horizon; Trump promised to bring them back. A solid mix of Democratic redistributionism and protectionism brought these voters home.

But now a new study says that the real reason so many white blue collar workers went for Trump had nothing to do with their Hillbilly Elegy economic status.… Continue Reading

Republicans Guarding the Swamp

Written by Rob Chambers

Democrats have become obstructionists in the American democratic republic. They routinely oppose legislation designed to protect national security and the sanctity of human life. Also, U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and other moderate to liberal Republicans have participated to a great degree in this obstruction. How so?

Take for example the omnibus, Continuing Resolution (CR) spending bill that just passed the U.S. House and U.S.Continue Reading

A Widening Love-My-Country Gap From Dems

Written by Chad Groening

Longtime conservative activist Gary Bauer is concerned about the growing patriotism gap between the two major political parties in America.

A recent Gallup poll found that fewer Democrats are proud to be Americans.

The survey, conducted in March 2017, revealed 67 percent of Democrats are “extremely proud” or “very proud” to be Americans; that compares to 78 percent in 2016.

There was little change among Republicans and Independents. In fact, the survey shows Republicans’ pride at 92 percent.… Continue Reading

SPOTLIGHT: Clear Thinking About Climate Change

Written by Benjamin Smith

Dr. E. Calvin Beisner, the founder and national spokesman of the Cornwall Alliance, discusses the misinformation being spread by climate change alarmists in this week’s podcast.  Even Pope Francis has weighed in, imploring world leaders to implement global environmental pacts to combat human-caused global warming.  Dr. Beisner explains why these misguided efforts to supposedly safeguard the future of the planet actually hurt the poor and the needy of the world.… Continue Reading

How Many Americans Does Obamacare Kill Each Day?

Written by Ben Voth

In 2015, something unexpected and unusual happened to the United States. For the first time since 1993, life expectancy in the United States declined. The decline was significant and extensive. Life expectancy is one of the most basic indicators of human health and the United States is one of the most advanced nations in the world. The decline should be causing a careful consideration of its causes and potential solutions. This is largely being ignored by our intellectual leadership for a rather obvious reason: the Affordable Care Act that promised to make health insurance more affordable and available for Americans.… Continue Reading

Five Consequences of Illinois’ Bad Budget Deals

Written by Ted Dabrowski and John Klinger

Illinois politicians are notorious for making deals in the middle of a crisis that end up being good for the political establishment but destructive for Illinois residents and taxpayers. It’s no coincidence that the author of the famous quote “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste” – Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel – hails from Illinois.

Now Illinois is in the midst of its worst fiscal crisis ever, and yet another bad deal is on the horizon.… Continue Reading

Vote Fraud Oughta Be a Crime

Written by Robert Knight

Joseph Stalin is credited with observing that, “It’s not the people who vote that count, it’s the people who count the votes.”

Over the last two decades the Left has been changing both the rules of our election process and America’s demographics to suit their political agenda.

A perfect example is Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s brazen attempt to get more than 200,000 convicted felons onto the state’s voter rolls in time for the last election.… Continue Reading

Pro-life Leader Charmaine Yoest Named to HHS Post

Written by Dave Bohon

Charmaine Yoest, an outspoken pro-life leader and former president of Americans United for Life (AUL), has been chosen by the Trump administration to serve as assistant secretary for public affairs in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Yoest will serve under another pro-life champion, former U.S. Representative Tom Price (R-Ga.), who was confirmed as HHS secretary in February. As a congressman Price had a perfect pro-life voting record and, like Yoest, has been a vocal proponent of cutting all federal funding to abortion giant Planned Parenthood, whose funding is funneled through HHS.… Continue Reading

Contact Kinzinger To Defund Planned Parenthood

Written by Chris Iverson

We’re flooding U.S. Representative Adam Kinzinger’s office in Washington D.C. with calls urging him to vote YES on the AHCA!

Call U.S. Representative Kinzinger at (202) 225-3635 and say:

“I want to urge Representative Kinzinger to vote YES on the AHCA!”

The AHCA will defund Planned Parenthood for one year, cutting 33 percent of their revenue! It can only defund the abortion clinic chain for one year due to Senate rules. This will be a major pro-life victory, but there are a handful of Republicans who have not committed to voting yes yet.… Continue Reading
