Illinois Democrats Collude for JB Pritzker

Written by David E. Smith

The deceitful media has talked a lot about electoral “collusion” on the national level, but there is a clear case of collusion here in Illinois and we haven’t heard a peep about it.

During the Spring session of the Illinois General Assembly, Democratic lawmakers passed  House Bill 40, on a party line vote (62-55 in the House on April 25th and 33 to 22 in the Senate on May 22nd).… Continue Reading

Politics or Babies? What’s a Governor to do?

Written by Kathy Valente

Politico recently reported that Governor Rauner’s “ongoing struggle with the politics of a controversial abortion bill hasn’t gone unnoticed by potential opponents.” A Democrat opponent in the 2018 gubernatorial race, J.B. Pritzker, has capitalized on “Rauner’s indecision with HB 40 by releasing a new statewide TV ad where the billionaire Democrat declares if he’s elected, HB 40 will be the first bill he signs.”

This comes on the heels of Pritzker, along with the bill’s sponsors, making a video about dropping off 4,000 postcards to Gov.… Continue Reading

Conservative Christians Needed to Step Up

Monte Larrick’s introduction to the video posted below says it well:

“You see and feel what’s happening in Illinois…high taxes…fiscal chaos…businesses and your hard-working friends leaving the state…a liberal social agenda…and we can’t just blame Democrats for the mess in Illinois when too many Republicans are contributing to our state’s downfall.”

While there is much to cause despair, the truth is that Christian conservatives can make a huge impact — especially when it comes to the workings of the Republican Party.… Continue Reading

What Does it Mean to Be a Republican?

Written by Lt. Col. Allen B. West

[Over the summer], MSNBC host and former U.S. Congressman from Florida Joe Scarborough said on a late night talk show that he was no longer a Republican. Scarborough admitted that he would be registering as an Independent. This is the same Joe Scarborough who came of age in the constitutional conservative ideological legislative revolution of one Newt Gingrich and his “Contract with America”. Of course, these days there are many folks changing their party affiliations to Independent.… Continue Reading

Get Involved Locally. You Might Just Save the Country.

Written by David E. Smith

Lest you think Illinois Family Action is being overly dramatic with that headline, you should know that we borrowed it from The Daily Signal, the news publication of the renowned Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C.

In the article, writer Slade O’Brien lays out an encouraging argument for Americans to get involved:

While much of the media focuses on lawmakers in Washington clunking heads and getting little done, the common narrative has been that change is a pipedream.

How to Restore Our Constitutional Foundation

Written by E. Jeffrey Ludwig

By the end of World War II, the beautiful foundational ideas and ideals of our constitutional republic had already been significantly undermined by the Democratic Party. The two pillars of our constitutional republic, federalism and checks and balances among our three branches of government, were being disrupted and distorted. The distortions expressed by so-called progressivism had begun the transformation of our political and economic system, especially under Woodrow Wilson and the Democrat Party, and intensified under the policies and programs of the New Deal.… Continue Reading

U.S. Senate to Trump: Force Transgenders on Military

Written by Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt, PhD

“New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, a Democrat, and Maine Sen. Susan Collins, a Republican, introduced a bipartisan amendment to protect transgender service members from President Trump’s plan to ban them from the military,” reports Time.

“The amendment introduced Monday would prohibit the Department of Defense from dismissing current transgender service members ‘solely on the basis of the member’s gender identity,’ Senators said in a statment.

“Any individual who wants to join our military and meets the standards should be allowed to serve, period.… Continue Reading

Congressman Gutierrez Declares Political War on Retired General David Kelly

Written by John Biver

In politics, it is sometimes impossible to avoid encountering heated exchanges between political opponents.

Recently, Illinois Democratic Congressman Luis Gutierrez leveled charges at White House Chief of Staff retired U.S. Army General David Kelly. While Kelly’s response was pointed, it was not nearly as harsh as those of Hispanic 100 spokesman Steve Cortes.

First, a little background. Many of us have been aware of Rep. Gutierrez since he joined the U.S.… Continue Reading

Dick Durbin Joins Leftist Colleagues Seeking to Impose a Religious Test on Court Nominee

Written by John Biver

A few Democrat U.S. Senators, including Illinois’ own Dick Durbin, have been criticized for their questioning of 7th Circuit Court of Appeals nominee Amy Coney Barrett on the grounds that they were attempting to impose a religious test in contravention of the U.S. Constitution.

The National Review’s Alexandra DeSanctis provides the background:

Barrett is a law professor at the University of Notre Dame who has written about the role of religion in public life and delivered academic lectures to Christian legal groups.
