For the past couple of weeks, aside from bashing President Trump over tariffs, the media have been fixated on an illegal immigrant deported to El Salvador.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who had been living in Maryland, is reputedly a member of the MS-13 gang, a U.S. government-designated foreign terrorist organization. He was summarily shipped off to his home country. Cue the outrage.

Is the Overhaul of USAID Good?

The Trump Administration recently announced a freeze in funding for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and ordered all its employees to pause their work. USAID’s website states,

“On Friday, February 7, 2025, at 11:59 pm (EST) all USAID direct hire personnel will be placed on administrative leave globally, with the exception of designated personnel responsible for mission-critical functions, core leadership and specially designated programs.”
