Hate, Bernie Style

Written by Robert Knight

Two remarkable things unfolded last month.

The Democrats openly embraced socialism in the form of single-payer health care. And they announced a secular, anti-Christian test for public office. The two go together like Abbott and Costello. Or better yet, since this is far from funny, Marx and Lenin.

“Democratic Socialist” Vermont U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders’ scheme for a single-payer, government-run health care system has already been endorsed by 16 Democrat senators.… Continue Reading

Dick Durbin Joins Leftist Colleagues Seeking to Impose a Religious Test on Court Nominee

Written by John Biver

A few Democrat U.S. Senators, including Illinois’ own Dick Durbin, have been criticized for their questioning of 7th Circuit Court of Appeals nominee Amy Coney Barrett on the grounds that they were attempting to impose a religious test in contravention of the U.S. Constitution.

The National Review’s Alexandra DeSanctis provides the background:

Barrett is a law professor at the University of Notre Dame who has written about the role of religion in public life and delivered academic lectures to Christian legal groups.

U.S. Senate Democrats Grill Appointee Over Catholic Faith

Written by Michael Gryboski

A few U.S. Senate Democrats recently grilled a judicial nominee to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals over her Roman Catholic beliefs.

During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing for Notre Dame Law School Professor Amy Coney Barrett held Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., expressed concern over the nominee being too religious.

At issue were comments made by Professor Barrett going as far back as 1998, which some have interpreted as saying that Catholic teaching should take precedence over the law.… Continue Reading

‘Dangerous’: Milo Yiannopoulos Delights to Provoke

Written by Denyse O’Leary

Yiannopoulos (hereafter Milo), gay conservative provocateur, may need no introduction. Indeed, many people might refuse to read his new book Dangerous even though as of July 28, 2017, it was ranked #1 in Amazon’s “commentary and opinion” books. That would be a pity. The people who would feel most repelled are actually most at risk in the new social media-governed world for which Yiannopoulos, formerly Breitbart’ technology editor, offers insight.

It’s best to begin by clearing away some misunderstandings about Milo.… Continue Reading

CHICAGO: Inside the Biggest Gathering of American Socialists In Decades

Written by Ryan Cooper

Things are looking up for the Democratic Socialists of America. With a membership of 25,000, it is now the largest socialist group in America since the Second World War. And last weekend in Chicago, it held its largest convention, by a considerable margin, in its history.

The event was a fascinating view into an organization that is simultaneously struggling with sudden success and looking to capitalize on fertile conditions to grow even more.… Continue Reading

20 Ideas to Crush Obamacare and Cure America’s Health Care Crisis

Written by Daniel Horowitz

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is famous for declaring health care a right. He is actually correct if we were to tweak his statement to read, “free market health care is a natural right.” Yes, we the people have a right to finally create a free market health care system that will do to the medical field what Uber, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Walmart, FedEx, and UPS have all done to their respective industries.… Continue Reading

Trump Nominee Not Hindered by Bernie Sanders’ Religious Litmus Test

Written by Tony Perkins

No thanks to U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), President Donald Trump’s pick for the Office of Management and Budget is one step closer to his new job.

After a faith-based grilling that left Sanders red-faced and Americans in shock, Russell Vought’s nomination squeaked out of the Senate’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee by the narrowest of margins, 8-7.

The hearings caught the country’s attention when Sanders made the case that Christians like Vought are unfit for public office — even in jobs that have nothing to do with faith.… Continue Reading

Bernie Sanders Exposes His Anti-Christian Bigotry

Written by Laurie Higgins

On Wednesday afternoon, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) revealed why he is unfit for office. During his shameful inquisition of Russell Vought (a Wheaton College graduate), who is Trump’s nomination for the position of deputy director of the Office for Management and Budget (OMB), Sanders demanded that Vought’s nomination be rescinded because Vought believes and said that Muslims have a “deficient theology.”

Writing in response to comments made by former and controversial Wheaton associate professor Larycia Hawkins, Vought said, “[Muslims] do not know God because they have rejected Jesus Christ his Son, and they stand condemned.”Continue Reading

Progressive Congressman Defends Father’s Soviet Ties

Written by Cliff Kincaid

After delivering a powerful anti-Russian speech at Saturday’s March for Truth in Washington, D.C., the “effective progressive” U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) threatened this reporter, saying, “if you talk about my father again you’ve got a real problem.”

Clearly upset about a line of questioning that exposed his hypocritical anti-Russian stance, Raskin said, “Stop harassing me.”

The exchange, captured on tape, followed questions about his father’s involvement in arranging conferences with Soviet officials during the Cold War, for the purpose of undermining then-President Ronald Reagan’s anti-communist policies.… Continue Reading
