The Illinois Family Spotlight podcast will highlight a specific cultural or political issue of which our listeners should be aware. Our discussions will be informed by a biblical worldview that will help expose the lies and distortions promulgated within secular culture. We will be interviewing policy experts and scholars whose knowledge and insights will help listeners form a wiser worldview.
Republicans who care about liberty, equality, justice, safety, and economic security must vote for President Donald J. Trump and Republican U.S. Senators. A Democrat-controlled presidency and U.S. Senate would mean further empowering the arrogant, ignorant, tyrannical cancel culture that has taken root in every major cultural institution in America. Academia, the mainstream press, Big Tech, corporate America, Hollywood, and professional medical and mental health organizations collude to censor the dissemination of ideas leftists don’t like and oppress those who disseminate them.… Continue Reading
Every day, “progressives” provide evidence for their unfitness for any positions of leadership, power, or influence. Senate minority leader and master of hyperbole and prevarication Chuck Schumer (d-NY) provides a case in point. In response to the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court, Schumer made this comment on the U.S. Senate floor:
It will go down as one of the darkest days in the 231-year history of the United States Senate.
Tough questions mean tough answers if someone is willing to tell the truth. IFI had a couple of such wise, biblically literate men at our 2020 Worldview Conference in February: Dr. Michael Brown and Dr. Robert Gagnon. These two are unafraid to tackle the tough questions and give you a tough, truthful answer in return. This podcast spotlights the question and answer session of that conference which generated some interesting, evergreen thoughts for faithful Christians, especially in the lead up to the election.… Continue Reading

I recently gave a Sunday morning message at my church, and since we captured the audio, I thought we could post it as a special addition for those who may be interested.
In this 40 minute sermon, we take a closer look at Psalm 136, in which we are repeatedly told that God’s “mercy endures forever.”
God’s mercy is a monumental theme in God’s Word. The English word appears some 341 times in the Bible. The four Hebrew and three Greek words associated with this term appear a total of 454 times and are also translated as “kindness,” “lovingkindness,” “goodness,” “favor,” “compassion,” and “pity.”… Continue Reading
Christian creator of the well-known children’s video series Veggie Tales, Paul Vischer, is woke, folks. Recently, in some tweets, Vischer appears to be defending voting for the corrupt influence-peddler Joe Biden who embraces all sorts of policy positions that oppose biblical truth.
If you want to get up to date on Illinois politics and the upcoming election, listen to this spotlight. This podcast came from a Zoom webinar featuring IFA endorsed candidates for U.S. House, Jim Oberweis, and Illinois Senate, Jeanette Ward, in addition to our usual cohosts, David Smith and Monte Larrick. They talked about a host of issues: from the handling of COVID-19 by Illinois and federal governments, to education choice, to abortion, to taxes and so on.… Continue Reading

The Facebook Overlords are in overdrive—with a little help from their leftist friends.
Thursday morning, I awoke to a notification from the Facebook Overlords that they had removed a post from Illinois Family Action’s Facebook page that was posted way back on February 20, 2020. Shortly thereafter, I was alerted to a video made by a candidate running for the Illinois House in the 90th District who was the subject of my post and who is using it to raise campaign money.… Continue Reading
The meme featured above has been circulating on social media, passing as wisdom in the dystopian Upside Down in which “progressives” live and move and have their being. How is violence defined by those who are sharing this meme? Are they using it in the sense of bodily acts of violence or in the sense of “the abusive or unjust exercise of power”?
If the latter, was Amy Coney Barrett a victim of violence on the second day of the Senate confirmation hearings for her Supreme Court nomination?… Continue Reading
Our election themed podcasts continue with Tom McCullagh, a GOP candidate for the Illinois 49th senate district and a candidate endorsed by Illinois Family Action. McCullagh is one of those highly qualified men running to represent his district against the radical regression Leftists are pushing on Illinois. He joins Monte Larrick and David Smith to discuss the 2020 election and how important it is to the future of neighborhoods, the nation, and all the spheres in between.… Continue Reading
We face an election of monumental consequence with a president with communication challenges, a public that gets caught up in the minutiae of spun “narratives,” and a poisonous press that long ago abandoned the legitimizing tasks of the Fourth Estate to join the Fifth column. As the Fifth Column continues its relentless efforts at a soft coup of a duly elected president via character assassination and other assorted machinations, it seems some historical perspective is in order.… Continue Reading
