Obama, the Role of Race, and GOP Victory

To many liberals, it seems obvious that Barack Obama’s problems and setbacks– including the resounding Republican victory on November 4th – stem in no small part from racist reaction to his status as the first non-white president in American history. The facts, however, suggest that racial factors contributed far more to Obama’s successes than they did to his failures.

Exit polling reveals the true nature of his decisive triumphs in 2012 and 2008, and the Democrats’ wretched failure in 2014.… Continue Reading

Far-Left Media Looking for a Clinton Challenger

Written by Don Irvine

There may be many in the mainstream media who are looking forward to a presidential run by Hillary Clinton, but the far-left media, which has never been crazy about Hillary, is actively seeking someone else to become the Democratic Party standard bearer in 2016, according to Politico’s Maggie Haberman and Hadas Gold.

The anti-Clinton drumbeat from the left includes Mic.com, a relatively new website aimed at progressive millennials, and left-wing magazines In These Times and The Nation.… Continue Reading

How Christians & Other Groups Voted in 2014 Midterm Elections

American_flag

Mark Silk of Religion News reports that according to exit polls America’s various religious groups voted almost the same in the 2014 midterm elections as they did in the last midterm election in 2010, and not much different from the 2012 presidential election.

CHRISTIANS

  • Protestants voted Republican 60%-38% in 2014 (59-38 in 2010; 57-42 in 2012)
  • Catholics voted Republican 53%-45% in 2014 (54-44 in 2010; for Democrats 50-48 in 2012)
  • Regular church attenders (once a week or more) voted Republican 58%-41% in 2014 (58-40 in 2010, 59-39 in 2012)

NO RELIGION (Atheists & Agnostics)

  • “No religion” voted Democratic 69%-29% in 2014 (68-30 in 2010)

OTHER RELIGIONS (Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, etc.)… Continue Reading

Republican Party Historic High: GOP Controls 68 of 98 State Legislatures

After last Tuesday’s impressive showing by the GOP in the 2014 midterm elections, Republicans now control 68 of 98 partisan state legislatures, the highest in the party’s history

A recent Real Clear Politics analysis highlighted that on top of boasting the majority in both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representative, Republicans currently control the governorship and both houses of the legislature in 23 states. That number could jump to 24 if Sean Parnell wins re-election in Alaska.… Continue Reading

Election 2014: A Conservative Victory

CapitolTourBuildingOutside

The American people sent an unmistakable message to Washington, D.C.: Voters expect Republicans in Congress to listen and fight for the conservative agenda they ran on.

  • Every single newly elected Republican Senator ran on the full repeal of Obamacare. In most competitive races it was the top issue. Over 40,000 ads against Obamacare were run on behalf of winning candidates. The Republican House and Senate must now keep those campaign promises and use reconciliation to send a bill repealing Obamacare to the President.

Republicans Win Senate With the Help of Training by Fox, CNN Types

Joni Ernst

Written by Don Irvine

After blowing back-to-back opportunities in 2010 and 2012 to retake control of the Senate—thanks to numerous gaffes by inexperienced candidates—Republicans decided that the 2014 group of candidates would get mandatory media training under the direction of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC).

According to Politico’s Edward-Isaac Dovere, Manu Raju and John Bresnahan, the NRSC had trackers meet the candidates at the airports as soon as they emerged from security, and whisked them away to begin the media boot camp.… Continue Reading

Why I.D. for Travel or Guns, But Not for Voting?

????????

Written by Michael Medved

If it’s somehow racist and discriminatory to require identification as a condition for voting, then how is it any less discriminatory to impose similar conditions for air travel, mortgages, receiving or cashing government checks, or purchasing guns?

Voting is a crucial right—but so is the ability to purchase property or to keep and bear arms. The Democratic claim that black people don’t have equal access to identification is obviously false: black voting participation in crucial states actually went up after new rules requiring ID as a condition of voting.… Continue Reading

Illegal Voters May Decide Fate of U.S. Senate

Voting-Place

Written by Phyllis Schlafly

Control of the U.S. Senate is up for grabs on November 4, and illegal voters may tip the balance. Estimates are that more than 14 percent of non-citizens were registered to vote in the elections of 2008 and 2010, and that could now easily exceed the margin of victory in many tight Senate races.

Democrats typically win more than 80 percent of the votes cast by non-citizens, so votes cast by non-citizens produce a net bonanza of additional votes for Democrats.… Continue Reading

“War on Women” Flops with Both Genders

New polling shows that the “War on Women” theme with which Democrats hope to rally their female base seems to be flopping across the country.

In the crucial U.S. Senate race in Arkansas, women voters give GOP Senate challenger Tom Cotton a solid edge, joining their husbands and brothers and sons in rejecting the Obama agenda. In Colorado, where U.S. Senator Mark Udall has emphasized women’s issues so heavily that some reporters call him “Mark Uterus,” males and females give an identical and decisive edge to his Republican opponent, Corey Gardner.… Continue Reading

If GOP Blows Nov. Election, Its Anti-Conservative Strategy Will Be to Blame

2014elections

Written by Brent Bozell

We are watching the wheels come off the most radical and dangerously incompetent administration in history. “I am not on the ballot this fall,” President Barack Obama proclaims, “but make no mistake: these policies are on the ballot. Every single one of them.”

This statement should be the final nail in the coffin for the Democrats. The GOP should be poised to win a landslide of historic proportions.

So why is there so much debate over whether they’ll win — at all?… Continue Reading
