Full Speed Ahead

Obamacare-DT

Written by Deroy Murdock

The new Republican Congress should move full speed ahead to repeal and replace Obamacare. It would be unwise to wait for the Supreme Court to perform this service for the American people.

With GOP command of Capitol Hill starting tomorrow, Republicans should use their hard-won mandate to obliterate Obama’s medical Godzilla. A record 58 percent of registered voters want to junk Obamacare, according to a December 10 Fox News survey. As well they should.… Continue Reading

The Obama Economic Record is Even Worse than You Realize

obama_economy

Written by Chad Stafko

Six years ago this month, America cast its lot toward a young, first-term U.S. Senator from Illinois to lead the greatest nation in the world.  His mesmerizing words and bold promises drew folks in by the millions.

However, unless you’re a bleeding heart liberal, you realize the social experiment of electing an unqualified, former professional antagonizer has been an economic disaster.

The quantitative evidence, and it abundant, is overwhelming and ever-growing.

Remember the fanfare of January 2009.

What Ruling Class Republicans Fail to Understand About Independents

blog_independent_voter

Written By Bryan Fischer

Campaign consultants make bank on advising candidates how to win the independent voting bloc – those who are perceived to be the 20 percent of the electorate in the middle of the spectrum between left and right.

The theory is that the Republican candidate has the 40 percent of the electorate to the right of center locked up, and the Democratic candidate has the 40 percent of the electorate to the left of center locked up, and the issue will be decided by those in the mushy middle.… Continue Reading

Jeb Bush’s Common Core Problem

????????????????????????

Written By  Kelsey Harkness

Jeb Bush has long advocated for all 50 states to adopt Common Core national standards.

Now that the former Florida governor has all but confirmed his plans to run for president in 2016, the issue threatens to overshadow his likely campaign.

Bush’s name, matched with consistently high polling numbers among potential 2016 Republican candidates, makes landing a seat in the Oval Office feasible. But in order to reach the general election—to perhaps take on Hillary Clinton—Bush must first overcome concerns about Common Core with conservative primary voters.… Continue Reading

Gruber Apology “Lacking and Late,” Says Healthcare Analyst

Health Care Reform

Written by Chris Woodward

A health policy analyst predicts that Americans will find an ObamaCare adviser’s apology lacking.

M.I.T. professor Jonathan Gruber appeared Tuesday before a U.S. House committee, saying he was sorry for videotaped comments he made about the “stupidity of American voters” and lack of transparency in ObamaCare.

“At this point, that’s the only good tactic for him to take is to humble himself and sort of apologize,” says Hadley Heath Manning, director of Health Policy at the Independent Women’s Forum.

Newest GOP U.S. Senator: Vicotory an “Exclamation Mark”

cassidybill

Written by Bernie Becker

U.S. Senator-elect Bill Cassidy (R-LA) said Sunday that his election was the “exclamation mark” on this year’s Republican successes.

Cassidy, who unseated U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) in a runoff election on Saturday, said the GOP takeover of the U.S. Senate illustrated how dissatisfied voters were with President Barack Obama, especially in the Deep South.

“If there’s one party for the working people right now, it’s the Republican Party,” Cassidy said on “Fox News Sunday,” pointing to GOP efforts to expand drilling of natural resources and Democrats’ attempts to limit emissions.… Continue Reading

The IRS Scandal Is Not Going Away

irs-logo

Written by Bruce Walker

The IRS scandal is not much in the news these days, but it is not going away.  The more Obama’s minions stonewall this scandal, the more congressional Democrats discount the scandal, the more the leftist establishment media ignores this scandal, the more toxic it will be for the left.  In late November we learned that 30,000 of Lois Lerner’s lost e-mails have been found, but these e-mails have not yet been converted into readable form.… Continue Reading

A Moral Primer: Obama’s Legacy is Government-Induced Chaos at Home, Moral Equivalence Abroad

Barack-Obama-Moral-Primer-WH

Written by Victor Davis Hanson

The last but long gasp of the Obama administration is characterized not so much by deceit and incompetence as by growing chaos. Everything appears to be coming apart. The chariot of state now veers up and down with a terrified Phaethon clueless at the reins. Whether it is ISIS, Ebola, Putin, or Obamacare, the common strain is not simple incompetence, but a maladroitness born of intolerant ideological fundamentalism.

Have our government agencies ever seemed more corrupt or useless or both, staffed by political cronies and leftist zealots?… Continue Reading

HHS: Obamacare Premiums Going Up in 2015

Obamacare

Written by David E. Smith

The Associated Press reports that President Barack Obama’s administration has admitted that premiums for health-insurance plans sold on healthcare.gov will increase in 2015. Here’s the AP:

Obama administration officials are acknowledging that HealthCare.gov premiums, on average, will go up next year.

But the same officials say most current customers can still save money if they are willing to shop around a competitive marketplace.

In a report released Thursday, the Health and Human Services Department says premiums for the most popular type of plan will go up an average of 5 percent in 35 states where the federal government is running the health insurance exchanges.

ABC Still Ignores Obama Donor/Former Soap Opera Producer Being Named Ambassador to Hungary

Written by Curtis Houck

On Wednesday night, ABC became the only major broadcast network to not have covered the controversy over President Obama’s choice to name former soap opera producer and Obama reelection campaign bundler Colleen Bell the new United States Ambassador to Hungary.

The network’s zero coverage of this story came more than a day after ABC’s own chief White House correspondent, Jonathan Karl, grilled White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest on what exactly did Bell have in terms of qualifications for the job (to which Earnest was visibly stumped). … Continue Reading
