Was it simply a faux pas? Was it ignorance? Or was it intentional? These were the questions running through my mind as I listened to Hillary Clinton’s acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).
After mentioning that she and other Democrats were meeting in Philadelphia, the nation’s birthplace, Clinton briefly talked about the struggle that our nation’s 13 colonies had in coalescing around the shaping of our Republic. “The revolution hung in the balance,” she said, but they found “common purpose.”… Continue Reading

Four years after releasing a video that called for Black Christians to leave the Democrat Party, Bishop E.W. Jackson is renewing that call, and calling for Black Americans to leave the Democrat Party. “After eight years of the first black President, the black community is worse off now than it was when he was elected. The Democrat Party has become nothing more than a metaphorical slave ship, holding black voters captive, taking them where they don’t want to go, while telling them they’re on a luxury cruise.… Continue Reading

Billionaire real estate mogul and Republican frontrunner Donald Trump has said while it’s “not a particularly nice thing,” the Bible verse about “an eye for an eye” is among is favorite scriptures.
In an interview with WHAM 1180AM, Trump was asked to name his favorite verse in the Bible. He responded that he liked “many” verses, but one of them was “an eye for an eye.”
“That’s not a particularly nice thing.

Donald Trump’s support from self-identified evangelical voters has sparked a debate among Christian leaders over what that term means, and a move to narrow the definition of this term or abandon it altogether.
The civil war within American Christianity that Trump’s candidacy has sparked is similar to the one going on inside the Republican Party, with a particularly large faction dead set against ever supporting Trump.
The split is between a subset of evangelicals best categorized as “creedal” believers — those who take their faith most seriously and who oppose Trump.… Continue Reading

Max Lucado is a pastor in San Antonio and a bestselling author of 32 books, including the most recent Glory Days. In a 2004 piece, Christianity Today dubbed Lucado “America’s Pastor,” alluding to his broad appeal to mainstream Americans. Part of that appeal can be attributed to his approach to politics: typically, he stays out of it. He never endorsed or opposed a presidential candidate. Then Trump happened.
In a recent blog post, Lucado chose to speak out against what he calls Trump’s “antics,” insisting that, “such insensitivities wouldn’t even be acceptable even for a middle school student body election.”… Continue Reading

Donald Trump remains one of the biggest stories of the year.
He also remains a bit of an enigma – a man whose pro-life, pro-family promises don’t seem to match up with his record or his behavior. And despite multiple invitations by our partners at CitizenLink to clarify the seeming contradictions, Mr. Trump has refused to resolve the very questions Americans need to have answered before they can vote for him in good conscience.… Continue Reading

There is no doubt about it, many of us are hoping that 2016 will bring real change. Remembering back to the mantras of 2008, there were those who were anticipating “hope and change.” However, what we have seen over the course of the past eight years is not only more of the same, but a continual slide into social, economic, international, and moral chaos. And as a result, we continue to petition the Throne of Heaven, seeking real and fundamental change.… Continue Reading

It’s very simple. If a man has no moral center, if he has ambition but no faith, if he does not demonstrate humility or integrity, I will never vote for him for president. I don’t care who he is, what he’s done, what he says, or what positions he holds. None of that will matter when we are living under his tyranny, and tyranny is sure to follow when you give unspeakable power to a man who believes he is God.… Continue Reading

Christmas is just two days away. Parking spaces at malls and big-box stores are at a premium and many of the most popular toys and electronic gadgets are in short supply. While some last minute shoppers will dodge raindrops (no snowflakes this year) in their search for the final presents on their lists, others will click away at the computer, placing online orders and crossing their fingers that priority shipping will deliver their packages on time.… Continue Reading

In the wake of the California shootings, some liberals are mocking people of other faiths for trusting in prayer.
That’s because those liberals view themselves as “gods”; and they are jealous “gods” who will brook no other gods before them. We can see this in two key ways:
- Those liberals believe that praying to themselves will change reality just as people of faith believe that their God will intercede in times of need.
