Texas Democrats Walk Off Publicly Subsidized Jobs

Written by Nicholas J. Stojakovich

Let me see if I’ve got this right.

Texas State Democrats are filibustering by walking out and going to Washington D.C. to lobby Congress to get rid of the filibuster so that the federal government can take over their constitutional responsibilities by controlling elections in the state.

The legislation that they refer to as “voter suppression” actually expands voting, giving Texans more time, days, and opportunities to vote.

While ignoring their democratic, constitutional duties that they swore an oath to uphold, they claim that they are “taking a stand” for democracy by “walking out” on democracy in Texas.… Continue Reading

As Crime Skyrockets, Americans Want More Police

Written by Michael Haverluck

As crime escalates in some of America’s largest Democrat-run cities, politicians in the same party continue to press for defunding of law enforcement across the country. But according to recent nationwide poll, three-fourths of Americans would like to see additional police officers on the streets.

The latest USA Today/Ipsos poll revealed that President Joe Biden and Democrats are not pushing popular policy when it comes to Americans’ safety and well-being.

“In the survey, 7 in 10 supported increasing police department budgets; 77% said they would like additional police officers deployed on street patrols,” the USA Today/Ipsos poll disclosed.… Continue Reading

SPOTLIGHT: The Equality Act, Valiant Valedictorians, and Religious Freedom

While attending the National Religious Broadcasters Convention near Dallas, Monte Larrick had the opportunity to speak with Kelly Shackelford, President and CEO of First Liberty Institute, the largest legal firm in the U.S. solely focused on protecting religious freedom for all Americans. Their conversation begins with a discussion of the dangers of the Equality Act, or as Newt Gingrich calls it “the LGBT Supremacy Act.” Mr. Shackelford explains how passage of this act would gut the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) by launching a far-reaching assault on religious freedom in all areas of society.… Continue Reading

“Progressive” Is a Misnomer

Written by Dr. Jerry Newcombe

It has been said that he who frames the debate wins the debate. I think the “progressives” were brilliant to coin this term. But in reality, it’s one big lie.

Progress is a good thing, but many of the policies of the so-called “progressives” is anti-progress. “Progressive” is a misnomer.

As my boss, Dr. Frank Wright notes, “Using the fraudulent manipulation of language, Leftist progressives aim to advance their political, environmental, quasi-scientific, and socialistic agenda.”… Continue Reading

Who Are the Real Bullies on Race?

Written by David Limbaugh

As absurd, extreme and reckless as the American left has been on race, and despite growing public disapproval of their antics, they are doubling down rather than pulling back.

On the Fourth of July, Utah’s Black Lives Matter chapter described the American flag as “a symbol of hatred.”

“When we Black Americans see this flag we know the person flying it is not safe to be around,” it declared. “When we see this flag we know the person flying it is a racist.… Continue Reading

SPOTLIGHT: Classical Options And Hybrid Education

Written by Benjamin Smith

In this installment of Spotlight, David Smith is joined by Jennifer Burns, founder of Classical Consortium Academy. Jennifer shares how her initial experience with homeschooling and “car-schooling” led her to start H.E.A.R.T. (Homeschool Enrichment Achieved Respectfully Together) at the Village Church of Barrington. As God laid it on her heart to homeschool, He also led her in 2006 to take another step of obedience and found Classical Consortium Academy, a hybrid school that offers in-person instruction several days per week, paired with CCA-directed and parent- administered at-home learning.… Continue Reading

Justices Kavanaugh and Barrett Deal Crushing Blow to Religious Liberty

Written by Daniel Horowitz

James Madison once wroteGovernment is instituted to protect property of every sort” and that “conscience is the most sacred of all property.” Yet just before July 4 weekend, the U.S. Supreme Court, by denying an appeal in an important religious liberty case, has essentially abrogated both property and conscience rights, as well as the right to use one’s own property in accordance with deeply held religious beliefs. So much for self-evident truths, inalienable rights, and the institution of government to secure these rights.… Continue Reading

Democrats’ Gaslighting of America

Written by Robert Knight

The word “gaslighting” has been creeping into media critiques, and for good reason.

Once upon a time, the media conveyed the news, albeit with a liberal slant. Now, they’re into full-blown gaslighting to facilitate whatever the Left wants.

The term comes from a 1938 play by British playwright Patrick Hamilton, “Gaslight,” and film adaptations, the most famous of which is a 1944 version starring Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman.

It’s about a man who covers up a secret by literally making his wife believe she is insane.… Continue Reading
