Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene Leave GOP

Is the Republican Party no longer America first? Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene seem to think so.

Carlson, former Fox News host and current host of the Tucker Carlson Network, announced last week he no longer supports the Republican Party in an interview with the Canadian podcast, “Can’t Be Censored.”

“There’s no chance I would support the Republican Party,” he said.

“Not going to support the Democratic Party. I don’t know what I’m going to do.”

The comments came as podcast hosts Travis Dhanraj and Karman Wong and Carlson discussed his views on Trump and the war with Iran. Carlson said the war puts the interests of a foreign country above those of its own citizens. He believes the White House should focus on Canada and Mexico instead of the Middle East.

Because of this, Carlson won’t defend the Republican Party and won’t support them.

“There’s no defending this, because it’s immoral,” he said.

“And it’s exactly the opposite of what a political party in a democracy is charged with doing, which is representing its own voters, its own citizens, its own nation, and they’re not doing that. So, no, I’m out. And if I’m out, then I think a lot of other people are out.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former U.S. representative (R-Ga.) followed suit in a post to X.

Both Carlson and Greene were quick to say they won’t support the Democrat Party.

The charged language used by Carlson and Greene may raise emotion in those frustrated about the Iran war, but it’s not honest or substantiated. Iran is a threat to the safety of the United States. Other presidents, like Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama, dealt with it.

It’s a problem for America when an unstable terrorist country has nuclear weapons – especially when that terrorist country chants “death to America.” A government is supposed to defend its citizens. The Constitution was ordained by the Founding Fathers to “provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare.” A party that doesn’t do these things isn’t America first.

The war with Iran is only one part of a larger picture. The Republican Party, for all its faults, is still the party looking to secure the border, deport illegal immigrants, provide consequences for crime, expose fraud and beautify federal buildings. It’s the party advocating pro-life laws and protecting marriage – both of which are essential for the defense and welfare of a nation.

The Democrat Party stands for the opposite, and Illinois residents see the results – high taxes, marijuana on every street corner and tax-payer’s dollars supporting illegal immigrant’s schooling, healthcare and housing. Soft on crime policies have continued to make Chicago dangerous – and yet, with multiple people shot and killed every weekend, Mayor Brandon Johnson focused on transgenderism instead of making the city safer.

If Carlson and Greene leave the Republican Party and don’t want to support the Democrat Party, what will change? Though George Washington warned against political factions, the U.S. has been a two-party system for most of its existence. In the two-party system of the United States, there is very rarely a third choice.

In Illinois and other blue states, citizens have a front row seat to the Democrat Party’s America last policies.
