From Hunter’s Laptop to the LGBTQ Mouse and the White House

Written by Robert Knight

There are many column-worthy topics, but I’m going to limit this to the Hunter Biden laptop, President Biden’s troubling gaffes and Disney’s latest plunge into “wokeness.”

The Washington Post, like The New York Times, has finally admitted the validity of Hunter Biden’s laptop 16 months after the New York Post broke the story. Like Big Tech, they suppressed it until after his father, Joe Biden, was safely ensconced in the White House.

In a front-page piece Thursday, The Washington Post “verifies key details of interactions” of the Biden family’s vast business dealings, including the president’s brother James Biden, “with Chinese executives.” Not just any. These guys run Communist-controlled conglomerates like CEFC China Energy, from which Hunter got $5 million.

The “verified” emails are from 2009 to 2019, “when Hunter Biden was acting as a consultant to companies from China and Ukraine. … His father was vice president from 2009 to 2017.”

But we don’t want to connect too many dots here. The Post neglects to note that former President Barack Obama appointed Joe as point man for Ukraine, after which Hunter joined the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma for $50,000 a month. Then-Vice President Joe Biden boasted on video that he got Ukrainian authorities to fire a prosecutor (who was looking into Burisma) by threatening to withhold a billion dollars in U.S. loan guarantees.

Remember, the Democrats impeached former President Donald Trump for a phone call to Ukraine’s president at the end of which he asked him to look into the shady Biden dealings.

Near the end of the piece, the Post notes that an email from a Hunter associate refers to a cut of the action for “the big guy,” which the Post says is “widely described as referring to Joe Biden.” No kidding.

Speaking of the “big guy,” we have Mr. Biden telling U.S. troops that they would see action in Ukraine. Then he said that if Russia uses chemical weapons, the U.S. “will respond in kind.” He also demanded regime change, saying Russian President Vladimir Putin had to go.

It’s hard enough for White House press secretary Jen Psaki to spin the constant nonsense. But these “gaffes,” which his staff is still “walking back,” are dangerous.

I suspect Democrats are preparing to remove Mr. Biden from power, so we’re finally seeing The New York Times and Washington Post report on the vast Biden family corruption.

They’ll soon make the case that cackling Vice President Kamala Harris is a newly discovered fount of governing wisdom.

Speaking of Democrats, the Mouse House, i.e., the Walt Disney Company, is doubling down on sacrificing children to the tender mercies of LGBTQ activists. Rebuked for not instantly opposing the Parental Rights in Education law signed by Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, the company has promised more LGBTQ fare for tots.

The Florida statute bars schools from teaching kindergartners through third grade about “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.” It has support from parents across the board, including a majority of Democrats.

Still, Disney CEO Bob Chapek groveled and pledged $5 million to LGBTQ pressure groups. Now, courtesy of the Manhattan Institute’s Christopher Rufo comes the revelation that Disney leaders have vowed during staff forums to do even more.

Executive Producer Latoya Raveneau says on video that her team has implemented a “not-at-all-secret gay agenda.”

“I was just wherever I could, just basically adding queerness … if you see anything queer in the show … no one would stop me,” she says.

On a Disney Twitter feed, company President Karey Burke spills this: “I’m here as the mother of two queer children, actually, one transgender child and one pansexual child, and also as a leader.” She boasts of “groundbreaking LGBTQIA” content but laments, “We have many, many, many LGBTQIA characters in our stories, and yet we don’t have enough leads.”

The company also announced that it would no longer welcome guests as “ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls” and instead say “dreamers of all ages.”

After a walkout by a handful of LGBTQ Disney employees, Mr. Chapek apologized yet again for not being “a stronger ally.” The company is reinstating a lesbian kissing scene in the animated film “Lightyear,” part of the beloved Toy Story franchise. Disney is also banning gendered pronouns at theme parks.

The good news is that some traditionalist Disney employees are fighting back in a well-written open letter in which they accuse the company of pandering to leftists, silencing dissenters, betraying Walt’s legacy and deeply offending customers.

Given all that’s going on, there’s no time like the present to pray for God’s grace and protection over America, even if we don’t deserve it.
Come to think of it, that’s the definition of grace.
