What a Precinct Committeeman Is, And Why Conservatives Need to Run for the Office

This is the second article in a series about running for the political office
of Republican Precinct Committeeman.
 (Read part 1 HERE.)

In our first post we quoted from Fay Voshell’s recent article, “The Little Hand,” words that should stir everyone on the political right into action. Voshell’s post is political writing at its best, and in my view — it is political writing as art. Speaking of art, here are a couple of lines spoken to idle troops during a battle in Shakespeare’s Henry V:

It is no time to discourse.

A Call to Attend the May 19th meeting of the IL GOP State Central Committee

Written by John Biver

Three Illinois conservatives who have a keen understanding of politics were asked by Illinois Family Action to comment on the upcoming meeting of the Illinois Republican Party’s State Central Committee on May 19th.

A lot is at stake — here are just two related items. First, there’s the question of the establishment’s tampering with the county party State Central Committee elections last month. The outcome of one of the races is being contested.… Continue Reading

Republicans Were Warned About Rauner. But in 2014, They Just Wanted to Win.

Written by John Biver

In 2014, Business Insider wrote about the fact that Bruce Rauner had an extramarital affair with his current wife Diana Rauner (who was “set to be married” to another man at the time) while his wife was pregnant with their third child. Ignore Rauner: The State of the State is Bankrupt

Written by John Biver

As one of those people who rarely watch our governor’s State of the State Address, Bruce Rauner’s speech on Wednesday reminded me why most people don’t bother. Illinois Republican voters can’t say they weren’t warned about Rauner. During the 2014 election cycle Doug Ibendahl, Laurie Higgins, and I wrote plenty of articles explaining why electing him was a mistake.… Continue Reading

(More) Conservative Christians (Still) Needed to Rescue Illinois

Written by John Biver

The above (slightly altered) title, which was added to a recent post after I wrote it, is too good to use only once. Conservative Christians are needed — and it is a rescue mission.

Is Illinois too far gone? Too many big problems that can’t be solved?

No and no. As bad as things are, Illinois can be saved. This state has many advantages — from it’s Midwestern location to its transportation systems, its natural resources, its number of great communities, businesses, churches and people.… Continue Reading

Is the Illinois GOP Civil War Finally Here?

Written by John Biver

Now that prominent conservatives are seeing Governor Bruce Rauner for who he really is, we arrive at a genuinely dramatic moment in a state where the Republican Party’s failures have paved the way for Leftist policies to ruin the state.

After signing several outrageously left-wing bills into law, an increasing number of rank and file conservatives and elected political leaders are finally seeing the truth about Governor Rauner. This gives conservatives in Illinois the opportunity to get their act together.… Continue Reading
