I know there are dads out there who are strangling hostile coyotes with their bare hands, and fending off California mountain lions that are closing in on their young children. But for my money, this guy gets my vote as dad of the year:

I’d dare to call him this election cycle’s “Joe the Plumber,” or “Ken Bone the debate questioner,” but after seeing what happened to those two guys for speaking truth to powerful left-wing office-seekers, I’ll resist.… Continue Reading

“That is what happens to those who pluck and eat fruits at the wrong time and in the wrong way … The fruit is good, but they loathe it ever after. All get what they want; they do not always like it.” ~Aslan in C.S. Lewis’ “The Magician’s Nephew”
In “The Chronicles of Narnia,” C.S. Lewis tells the story of the young boy named Digory who is sent on a journey by Aslan to retrieve an apple from a particular garden beyond the western mountains.… Continue Reading

The recent headline of a Chicago Sun-Times article alarmingly reports that a Chicago Public School watchdog is fielding 3 complaints of sexual misconduct per school day. This comes on the heels of a Chicago Tribune report last summer that exposed that Chicago public schools had more than 520 sexual assault cases all across the city over the past decade.

In a recent Washington Times column, titled “Is San Francisco the future of America?,” Lee Edwards, distinguished fellow at the B. Kenneth Simon Center for Principles and Politics at The Heritage Foundation, asked, “What has happened? Why is America slouching like some rough beast — not toward Bethlehem, but Gomorrah?”
This is a question we hear almost every day. “How did this happen so quickly?” It is as if we’ve have awakened from what we thought was a bad dream only to find that the nightmare is real.… Continue Reading

Summer is over. School has started. Students from coast to coast have returned to their college campuses, and the nation waits with bated breath as to what will happen next.
Will the self-absorbed snowflake insanity persist? Will you continue to hear cries of “you offended me” and “trigger warnings” in the halls of the academy? Will the demands for “safe spaces” continue to trump the study of science? Will the fixation on “micro-aggressions” continue to be more important than teaching morality?… Continue Reading

Pastor Lindstrom also details the important distinctives, advantages and opportunities of an academically-sound and biblically-solid education.
After the break the discussion turns to the recent, spectacular collapse – due to either moral failure of falling away from the faith – of several high-profile Christian leaders.… Continue Reading

In this week’s Spotlight, Pastor Calvin Lindstrom sits down with Dave Smith and Monte Larrick to discuss the distorted message and disastrous impact of the growing weed wave that is flooding the nation and the incestuous relationship between our elected officials (and their family members) and Big Marijuana.
