Democrats Can’t Seem To Give Up The Transgender Madness

You may have heard by now that Loudoun County, Virginia, school officials are at it again.

In May 2021, they covered up a girl’s rape in a high school restroom by a boy wearing a skirt and sent him to another high school, where he assaulted another girl.

The first girl’s dad was thrown to the floor, handcuffed and arrested when he refused to shut up about it at a school board meeting. The superintendent was later fired over the cover-up.

Unfazed, the Democratic-dominated school board weeks later enacted a policy allowing students to use the restroom matching their claimed gender identity.

Loudoun school officials also suspended an elementary school teacher in May 2021 for refusing to use misleading pronouns. He sued and was reinstated after the state U.S. Supreme Court upheld a lower court injunction and a settlement.

The American Civil Liberties Union, which some call the devil’s law firm, had filed a brief urging that the teacher, a Christian, be drawn and quartered. Well, OK, suspended.

This helped launch a burgeoning parents’ rights movement that is still growing.

However, Loudoun officials once again have indulged their inner fascist.

The school system launched a Title IX probe of three boys who had merely asked what a female was doing in their high school locker room. The girl recorded the incident on her phone and reported it, triggering the investigation — not of her but of the boys.

The parents naturally are outraged and worried that even if their boys are exonerated, they will have a disciplinary record for no good reason and that it could follow them.

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, a Republican, and Attorney General Jason Miyares, also a Republican, have launched an inquiry into the school system’s actions. “The victims of this violation are the ones being investigated. This is beyond belief,” Mr. Youngkin said.

Meanwhile, former state Representative Elizabeth Guzman, a Northern Virginia Democrat, is trying to flip the only Republican state House seat in Prince William County. Why does this matter?

Because Ms. Guzman is a charter member of the kidnapping lobby. In 2020, she introduced a bill that would have expanded the state’s definition of child abuse and neglect to include parents who won’t affirm their child’s gender identity or sexual orientation.

This would have given the state the power to remove children from any household that refused to support a child’s decision to identify as transgender or gay.

Even King George III, whose heavy-handed ways triggered the American Revolution, never dreamed of going this far.

The bill died in committee, and another version went nowhere in 2022, as her fellow Democrats backed away.

If the Republican Party in Prince William County, which has a sizable, family-friendly Hispanic population, does not exploit Ms. Guzman’s zeal to take away their children, the party should be charged with political malpractice.

Parents losing their children by refusing to go along with gender dysphoria is not merely theoretical.

In 2022, a Prince George’s County, Maryland, couple lost custody of their 16-year-old autistic son after refusing to affirm him as a transgender girl during a stay at Children’s National Hospital.

The couple, who are Black and Christian, tell their story in the Daily Caller’s new documentary “Separated: When the State Takes Your Kids.” The series also highlights two other couples who “paid an awful price for refusing to participate in left-wing gender madness.”

Meanwhile, in once-sane Colorado, state lawmakers last week approved a Democratic-sponsored bill advancing “transgender children’s rights” in public and charter schools.

One provision allows judges to take away custody if parents refuse to affirm a child’s sexual identity. Another section orders school officials to use a child’s chosen name and to allow “any of the options provided in the dress code.” In other words, it’s pretend time, or else.

It’s not just Colorado. In jurisdictions all over America run by Democrats, the madness persists.

But hold on, kids, the cavalry is coming.

Britain, Finland, Sweden, Hungary and other European countries have put the brakes on the push to turn children into the opposite sex, and Britain’s highest court just ruled that the words “woman” and “sex” refer to a biological woman and biological sex.

On May 1, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued a 409-page report, “Treatment for Pediatric Gender Dysphoria: Review of Evidence and Best Practices,” which shows that so-called gender-affirming care is not supported by the science.

It highlights multiple risks from “irreversible endocrine [puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones] and surgical interventions on minors with no physical pathology,” and notes that “even modern medicine is vulnerable to serious error.” It also examines the “re-emergence of psychotherapy [talk counseling] as the primary treatment for this patient population in Europe.”

In addition, Education Secretary Linda McMahon has made it clear that if states ignore President Trump’s executive orders barring males from female facilities and sports, it could cost school districts millions of federal grant dollars.

A federal statutory remedy is also needed because a future Democratic administration could easily reverse the Trump administration’s commonsense policies. In fact, that’s a given, especially if someone like fanatically pro-LGBTQ billionaire Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker gets elected.

The current Republican-run Congress, at the least, needs to enact legislation that creates federal criminal penalties for quacks who remove healthy body parts of minors.

After all, kidnapping is a federal crime. This is arguably worse.
