The Biden Administration’s intentional and flagrant disregard for national security has dramatically fostered and escalated an ongoing crisis at our southern border as record levels of illegal immigrants and deadly drugs pour into our nation. We also cannot overstate the egregious problem of human trafficking that has exploded in scope over the past few years.

Additionally, more than a few political pundits have expressed their grave concerns about the alarming number of military-age men streaming in through the southern U.S. border. Even Newsweek published an article over the summer asking, Is China Sneaking Military Personnel into the U.S. Via Border? The very first paragraph of this article is alarming:

The Republican Chair of the House Homeland Security Committee has said that it was “very likely” that “military personnel” were being inserted into the United States by China by crossing the southern land border.

If you are unconvinced please watch this short two-minute video on X for some anecdotal evidence that lends credibility to these concerns:

This is a stark reality check! How can any patriotic American not respond to this migration invasion by at least speaking out and demanding that our federal officials close the border immediately?

That is why many of us were encouraged earlier this month to see newly elected U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) demand hard-line immigration reforms in exchange for backing Biden’s emergency wartime funding request for Ukraine. According to the Associated Press, Speaker Johnson was:

holding firmly to the policies of a bill passed by House Republicans in May without a single Democratic vote. The bill, H.R. 2, would revive many of the policies pursued by former President Donald Trump, build more of the border wall and impose new restrictions on asylum seekers.

Unfortunately, despite the tough talk by conservative leaders, this past Thursday by a vote of 77 to 18, the U.S. Senate passed the continuing resolution to fund the federal government through early March and avert a partial government shutdown. Later that same day, the U.S. House of Representatives also approved the measure by a vote of 314-108, with 106 Republicans and two Democrats in opposition.

This short-term spending plan includes money for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. President Biden signed it into law on Friday.

While the Democratic members of the Illinois Congressional delegation voted for H.R. 2872, we are thankful that Republicans Mike Bost, Mary Miller, and Darin LaHood voted no. In fact, U.S. Representative Mary Miller issued this statement in opposition because it does not address the crisis at the border:

“I cannot vote to fund a government that allows millions of illegal aliens to invade our country and then uses our tax dollars to resettle them in every state. Joe Biden has no respect for the American people, our immigration laws, or the oath he took to defend our borders. Millions of military-aged men are walking across our border and boarding flights without identification, while American citizens are required to show ID. If Biden refuses to secure our border, Congress should refuse to fund the Biden government. We cannot fund our own invasion!“

Previously, Rep. Miller has made her position on the importance of border security very clear, promising not to vote for government funding if the border crisis is not properly addressed. In a press conference last week, Mary emphatically expressed her concerns:

Biden and the Democrats have advertised, facilitated, and incentivized this invasion.

Last week, after going down to the border with Speaker Johnson, I stayed an extra day to go visit a Texas ranch. Their ranch is being destroyed by illegals. The migrants are coming over by the thousands, the clothing piled up was knee-high, their pecan trees have been destroyed, and they have found hundreds of bodies this past year on their property.

I will not vote to fund the invasion of our country, and I will not vote to fund the government until we shut down and secure the border. We must secure the border, or stop funding the Biden government that is orchestrating this invasion.

We are deeply grateful for Mary Miller’s uncompromising leadership on this vitally important issue.

In order to stop the influx of immigrants, criminals, potential terrorists, and deadly drugs, you may want to urge them to pass the Secure the Borders Act and specifically:

end policies relating to the “catch and release” of illegal immigrants into the United States;
build a physical barrier along the U.S.-Mexico border;
mandate that Homeland Security deport aliens who have been convicted or charged with any criminal offense;
support the effort to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas for his failure to secure our borders.
