Democrats Put Their Faith in the Faithless

Written by Robert Knight

Democrats can’t seem to figure out whether they want to use the government to drive Christianity underground or just replace the biblical version with fake Christianity.

These aren’t mutually exclusive goals; either one brings America closer to a secular, socialist state whose unofficial religion is atheism.

Democratic presidential contenders like former Vice President Joe Biden, Massachusetts U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, New Jersey U.S. Senator Cory Booker, California U.S. Senator Kamala Harris and South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg invoke Christianity to shill for taxpayer-funded, unrestricted abortion and the family values of Sodom, plus confiscation of wealth and redistribution.  … Continue Reading

From the Redcoats to the Black Robes

Written by Daniel Horowitz

King George couldn’t hold a candle to the judicial despotism we are governed by some 12 score and three years after the colonists rebelled against what they thought were “intolerable acts.” Sure, there was some taxation without representation going on in the 1770s, but I think the colonists would have taken that any day if they were to see in their crystal ball the severity of today’s social transformation without representation.

We celebrate so much more than the founding of a new nation on July 4.… Continue Reading

Liberal Nonsense on Parade

Written by Dr. Everett Piper

It’s “1984” and we are living in schizophrenic times. Dickensian times. Orwellian times. The best of times, but yet the worst.

Times where we demand the truth while reveling in our lies. Times of great material gain but times of even greater moral loss. Times of monetary advancement, yet times of shocking mental decline. Times of the pathology of the intellect and the reprobate mind. Times of calling good evil and evil good; bitter sweet and sweet bitter.… Continue Reading

Long Train of Abuses: Illinois Conservatives Need to Use Their Power Especially Tomorrow

Written by John Biver

Tomorrow at Republican Party County Conventions across the state, conservatives will be engaging in the battle. I have never been more encouraged about the prospects for the success of those supporting the right policy reforms within the next few years than I am now.

When Bruce Rauner signed HB 40 and made it legal for pro-aborts to use your tax dollars to fund the murder of unborn babies, several Republican leaders in our General Assembly condemned Rauner and supported a challenger against him in the primary.… Continue Reading

What Liberals Think America Is Doing Right

Written by Taylor Lewis

America’s in trouble, we’re told.

Our politics is coarse and divided.  The media have been driven mad by the need to break scoops first, leading to clumsy and embarrassing errors.  Social media are turning us all into Narcissus, staring distractedly into digital pools, erasing our ability to think critically.  The world’s rising powers no longer fret over our might.

Doomsaying is prominent, but not all are saturnine.  Haley Britzky of Axios recently tried to lighten the country’s dark skies by listing “9 things America is getting right.”… Continue Reading

SPOTLIGHT: Back to the Basics – Constitutionally Speaking

Written by John Biver

Is the Declaration of Independence “perhaps one of the most important documents in the history of mankind”? Or are both the Declaration and U.S. Constitution to be disregarded because there were slave owners involved with drafting them?

David Shestokas is Monte Larrick’s guest on this week’s Illinois Spotlight podcast. Shestokas is an expert on the American Founding documents, a former Cook County assistant state’s attorney, and an author of: Creating the Declaration of IndependenceConstitutional Sound Bites, and Capsulas Informativas Constitucionales, which “explains for Spanish language readers both the meaning and historical context of the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.”… Continue Reading
