Our second breakfast meeting in the northwest suburbs will feature conservative pro-family advocate and candidate for state representative, Tom Morrison. Tom grew up in the Chicago suburbs where politics and culture were everyday topics discussed at the family dinner table.

In an attempt to bring the Illinois budget in line with state revenues, Governor Quinn recently announced spending cuts of 1.4 billion. There has been much handwringing about the cuts to education, healthcare and social services – arguably, there are legitimate concerns about cutting services and programs.

It was brought to my attention that the Chicago Young Republicans (CYR), or at least a good number of the members of CYR, proudly marched in the Chicago "Gay Pride" parade this past Sunday. Pictures from their participation are on display on the front page of the CYR website.

Illinois Family Action is a new cultural action organization that is separate from the Illinois Family Institute (IFI), legally. It has been created by separating out of IFI those activities which constitute political activity under the IRS code so that they can be expanded in scope.
