Know Your Ballot: Candidates Backed by Anti-Family Groups

Although information about candidates in county races is limited, the candidates listed in the linked resources below have been endorsed by anti-family organizations. Please use discretion when completing your ballot. Illinois Family Action has NOT endorsed these candidates.

Personal PAC, Girl, I Guess, and the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago have listed their endorsed candidates.

“For more than 35 years, Personal PAC has fought to protect reproductive rights in Illinois and has helped to elect more than 1,000 candidates across the state, from school board to governor.” They support abortion through all nine months, including for minors, with no restrictions.

“Girl, I Guess is Jewish, Black, queer, trans, nerdy and dedicated to helping members of the Chicago and Cook County community navigate a confusing ballot and identify the most progressive candidates.” They support Palestine and BDS, universal healthcare, canceling student debt, abolishing police and prisons, legalizing prostitution, trans people, intersex people, and the broader LGBTQ community, abortion, and more.

Since 1987, the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago has worked to eliminate discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion, sex, national origin, disability, and other protected characteristics through education, training, and partnerships with like-minded organizations.

Chicago School Board Races

For the first time, all 20 seats on the Chicago Board of Education, plus the board presidency, are up for election. Each voter will select one candidate to represent their subdistrict and one candidate for board president, who is elected citywide. Members elected from subdistricts will serve either two-year or four-year terms; the board president will serve a four-year term.
