GOP ‘Jihad Squad’ Facebook Post Called “Racist” Political Hate Speech

The Illinois Republican County Chairmen’s Association prompted an outcry from Muslims when it posted a faux movie poster image labeling four Democratic congresswomen as “The Jihad Squad” on its Facebook page.

The post showed the four congresswomen with a tagline that read, “Political jihad is their game. If you don’t agree with their socialist ideology, you’re racist.” U.S. Reps. Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts and Ilhaam Omar of Minnesota are shown holding guns. The other two images are of U.S. Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan. President Donald Trump had earlier tweeted that the four congresswomen should “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.”

A Muslim civil rights group expressed outrage at the reference to “Jihad” and the President’s insinuation that some Muslim countries, particularly in Africa, have serious social problems. Ahmed Rehab, executive director of the Chicago chapter of CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, insisted that there is no room in the political discourse for attacks based on race or religion: “But the fact remains that there is a cultural problem that allows these types of problematic, xenophobic, racist imagery to continue to come out regularly on those Facebook and Twitter and Instagram pages.”

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines “racism” as “prejudice or discrimination.” One can scarcely find a greater manifestation of prejudice and discrimination than that which has been regularly practiced by Islam since the seventh century. Jihad, a central doctrine of Islam, is defined as “a holy war undertaken as a sacred duty by Muslims,” and is responsible for the slaughter of countless millions of “infidels” who refuse to bow the knee to Islam.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was quick to condemn the nasty Republican “racists,” and demanded that the Republican Party identify and punish whomever is responsible. “Somebody needs to step up and take ownership of that,” Lightfoot said. “There should be no place in Illinois for that type of foolish, hateful, divisive post.”

Republicans were quick to grovel and attempt to make atonement for their sins. Lake County Party Chairman Mark Shaw stated that he was “sorry if anyone who saw the image was offended by the contents.” Gov. J.B. Pritzker applauded the apology, but added that “simply speaking out this one time isn’t enough.” As this goes to press, we are still awaiting a commensurate apology on the part of moderate Muslims for the excesses of their more fanatical brethren.
