The SPLC and JP Morgan Chase: Willful Ignorance in the Information Age

Written by John Biver

The Wall Street Journal (WSJis reporting this about the bank JPMorgan Chase and its willful ignorance:

The largest U.S. bank by assets will donate $1 million split between the Southern Poverty Law Center and Anti-Defamation League “to further their work in tracking, exposing and fighting hate groups and other extremist organizations,” according to an internal bank memo sent Monday that was reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

Is it possible that the executives at JPMorgan Chase have missed the national news about how the SPLC has disintegrated into a radical Leftist hate group? Are those men and women so insulated from the flow of information that they still believe the SPLC is legitimate? Again, from the WSJ:

“The events in Charlottesville have increased the urgency to confront hate, intolerance and discrimination wherever it exists.”

Can we assume that “hate, intolerance and discrimination wherever it exists” doesn’t include the hatred, intolerance and discrimination shown by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) toward Christian pro-family organizations?

Although the Illinois Family Institute (IFI) has been covering the story of the discredited SPLC for almost a decade, we realize we aren’t likely read in the halls of New York mega-banks. But IFI is only one of many organizations reporting the story. Articles can be found all throughout the new and old media, discussions have taken place on talk radio, and even the Fox News Channel has been involved with updating the country about the SPLC’s strategy of calling anyone they don’t agree with a “hater.”

The WSJ article continues:

[B]ank Chief Executive James Dimon [said] in an employee memo last week that he strongly disagreed with President Donald Trump’s reaction to Charlottesville and personally supported the disbanding of the president’s strategic and policy council of which he was a member.

Here was President Trump’s supposedly controversial reaction to the events in Charlottesville:

We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence, on many sides.

Your guess is as good as mine about what exactly Mr. Dimon strongly disagreed with. Trump’s use of the word “condemn”? “Strongest possible terms”? “This egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence, on many sides”?

Only those who hate Trump believe that when he said that there were good people on both sides he was referring to good Neo-Nazis, good KKK members, good Antifa members, or good Black Lives Matter members. Even though the media would have you believe otherwise, there were good people in the crowd protesting or supporting the taking down of the statues. They were not all card-carrying villains affiliated with pernicious organizations that all good people condemn.

This Leftist media-driven narrative has been despicable. The worst part is that many conservatives who are critical of Trump are cooperating willingly with the radical political left’s latest attempt to damage his presidency.

Never in Trump’s 35 or so years in the public eye has he ever been called a racist. Now that he’s an elected Republican, videos like this and this with Jesse Jackson are ignored.

And never in Trump’s 35 or so years in the public eye has he ever been called a Nazi-sympathizer. Now that he’s an elected Republican–a man whose daughter married a Jew, converted to Judaism, and is raising Trump’s grandchildren in the Jewish faith–we are supposed to believe that Trump’s condemnation of that infamously Jew-murdering ideology isn’t to be believed.

The SPLC and the Charlottesville narrative share in common a willful disregard for truth.  And troublingly, many people are either ignorant of their dishonesty or willfully ignoring it for their own political ends. Facts don’t matter. Feelings rule. In this new topsy-turvy world in which we live, the deceitful, hate-propagating SPLC is the self-appointed guardian of tolerance

It’s all about the information war, political leadership, and enlightened conservative donors. When will the latter–the big money guys and gals–wake up to what they’re up against? With every new manifestation of the Leftist narrative, the need is greater for conservatives to reach more people who are open to reason and facts.

Four years ago, I made this point:

Where are the networks of citizens ready to help disseminate the truth when the media lies? We had better develop them because right now if the liberal media wants to destroy a Republican candidate during the last week of a campaign, they can and do.

We have graduated to a level way beyond state or local candidates. Are conservatives ready? Are conservative donors showing yet that they get the problem? No and no.

The “Destroy Trump Media” failed to destroy Trump during the campaign, but they’re committed to doing so now. And, of course, the Leftists are happy to have the cooperation of any willing conservative.
