Hey Liberal Media, This is what it Actually Looks Like

There is a very interesting story that deserves to be resurrected in all this talk of Russian involvement in the recent election.  The claim is that somehow Donald Trump encouraged the Russians to hack Hillary Clinton and DNC servers to confirm bad things about the Clintons that most everyone already knew and suspected.

Actual confirmed efforts to involve the Russians are there, but not with Donald Trump. It involves one of the patron saints of liberalism: U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy.   In the early 1990’s it was revealed in The London Times, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, that Soviet documents confirmed that the Democrat U.S. Senator from Massachusetts had made an appeal to the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.  Kennedy had asked an avowed enemy of America to help the Democrat party defeat President Ronald Reagan in the 1984 election.

Kennedy explained that he was opposed to President Reagan’s  “belligerence, and his firm commitment to deploy new American middle range nuclear weapons within Western Europe” . .  . [and] “the President’s refusal to engage any modification on his politics.”

In exchange for their help, Kennedy offered to arrange time for sit down interviews for Yuri Andropov on network TV news in the fall before the election in order to undermine the President’s foreign policy.   He also promised to visit Russia, affirming their government, after the election.

President Reagan’s policy, not Ted Kennedy’s, led to the downfall of the USSR and the freedom of millions of those trapped in Communism in Eastern Europe.   The Black Book of Communism by Stéphane Courtois claims that the former Soviet Union was responsible for the death of 20 million people during their totalitarian reign.

By the way, has the media already forgotten that President Barack Obama unquestionably tried to undermine U.S. ally and Israeli patriot Benjamin Netanyahu in his re-election effort not that long ago?  ( There was almost no media uproar over that troubling effort.)  Here is that story: http://thehill.com/policy/international/236565-netanyahu-pollster-obama-role-in-election-larger-than-reported
