House Republicans: Kids’ Shows Need Warning Labels

On July 13^th, 47 U.S. House members wrote a letter to Brendan Carr, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

In this letter, House members strongly supported the FCC’s review of parental guidelines for TV shows meant for children:

“American children and families are under attack. Parents deserve full transparency from television and streaming services regarding unwanted sexual content in programming rated for children, and it is our intention to provide them with the tools and information they need to make informed choices for their families.”

Children’s shows have been a target for a long time by the radical Left. It is no secret that children are the most impressionable among us. If you can convince a child of radical agendas while they are young, it is very difficult to sway them when they are older.

I don’t think it is a coincidence that radical ideologists seek to target and exploit the impressionable nature of children. After all, it was Adolf Hitler, who in a 1935 speech who remarked,

“He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future.”

The radical nature of the growing number of childrens’ shows proves this intentional target of young children.

The letter to the FCC Chairman quotes a study conducted by Concerned Women for America (CWA), which found that 41% of Netflix’s children’s shows contain undisclosed LGBTQ content. In addition to this, the CWA study found that 87% of Americans favor including a warning or content labels for parents when deciding what their children are allowed to consume.

To show how bad these shows really are, let me give you a few examples:

• In the popular show, Peppa Pig, the storyline features two polar bears who are in a homosexual relationship and raising a child.
• In the show, The Amazing Digital Circus, sex, murder, suicide, and horror are regular themes.
• The show, CoComelon Lane, features afamily of two gay dads.
• Sesame Street also features two gay dads in a “Family Day” episode.

These are just a few examples of many.

Parents deserve transparency when it comes to what type of content is allowed in the shows that are rated as child friendly.

More than that, children deserve to grow up with shows that don’t put radical, anti-family, and physically harmful ideas into their minds and hearts.

Unsurprisingly, while the majority of Americans are in favor of content transparency, Democrats are intent upon pushing their agenda anyway.

The letter to the FCC notes,

“Democratic opposition to protecting our children is divorced from reality. In their opposition letter to the FCC, 68 radical Democrats from the ‘Equality Caucus’ spoke against the fundamental right of American families to protect their children. In their letter, Democrats ‘reject the idea that the inclusion of transgender characters or topics is ‘sexual, violent, or indecent.’ Content that encourages child mutilation IS sexual, violent, and indecent and can lead to gender dysphoria and mental illness among children.”

While it is essential for the government and platforms like Netflix to take steps to protect children through content transparency, it is not ultimately the job of the government or media platforms to protect your children from harmful content.

Parents, it is your job to protect your children. Be diligent over what your kids are consuming, what devices they have access to, what games they’re playing, what shows they’re quoting, what behaviors they’re picking up, who they’re following on social media.

Media is powerful, and this is even more true for the impressionable young minds of children.
