The Left-Wing Coalition Behind the “No Kings” Protests
Written by David E. Smith
Last weekend, Leftists gathered in cities across the country for coordinated “No Kings” rallies — events ostensibly organized to complain, scream and whimper that Donald J. Trump is acting like a monarch. In reality, these unsubstantiated attacks on Trump’s leadership mask a much deeper and more troubling agenda. One in which central government would expand dramatically.
A closer look at the sponsors and partners behind the marches reveals a powerful coalition of radical and socialist groups working to reshape America’s political foundation. According to The Tony Kinnett Cast, they were very well funded – to the tune of over $294 Million from six megadonors, including the Arabella Strategy Group ($79 million), Warren Buffet ($16 million), The Ford Foundation ($51 million), The Rockefeller Foundation ($26 million), George Soros ($72 million), and the Tides Foundation ($45 million).

Chicago’s Left-Wing Coalition
The Chicago “No Kings” rally was backed by a broad alliance of far-left organizations, including Indivisible Chicago, the Chicago Federation of Labor, Equality Illinois, Personal PAC, Sierra Club Illinois, and the ACLU of Illinois. Other participating groups included the League of Women Voters of Chicago, the Chicago Teachers Union, the Human Rights Campaign, Planned Parenthood, Greenpeace, and the Arab American Institute, among others.
While the event was promoted as a “grassroots” expression of democracy, the roster of sponsors read like a who’s who of the Illinois left — from abortion and environmental activists to teachers’ unions and socialist political organizers.
In New York City, the “No Kings” rally on October 18 was even more explicit in its ideological bent. According to reports from Newsweek and Red State Nation, the event was co-sponsored by groups openly aligned with Marxism and communism, including the Communist Party USA (CPUSA), the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the Freedom Socialist Party, and the Young Communist League.
These groups have long histories of advocating for radical economic and social restructuring — far from the mainstream American principles the rallies claimed to uphold.
To put it plainly, these well-funded, well-organized groups are intent on changing our society, and not for the good.
An Overt Radical Agenda
Although branded as a protest against “kings” and authoritarianism, the “No Kings” movement reveals a troubling alignment between mainstream Democratic allies and outright socialist and communist organizations. What unites them is not a commitment to liberty or limited government, but rather a shared hostility toward traditional American values, capitalism, and faith-based institutions.
Whether they call themselves progressives, socialists, or outright communists and Marxists, they share a common — and foolish — belief that government is the solution to every human problem. Consequently, they long for Big Government while rejecting self-government and the biblical spheres of authority — including family and church — that safeguard human freedom.
Behind the slogans and signs, the “No Kings” protests are not about liberty. They seek not the absence of kings, but the enthronement of a new one — a government ruled by coercive, godless ideology rather than one grounded in biblical truth and accountable to the consent of the governed.
