SPOTLIGHT: Education is Possible

Written by Alyssa Sonnenburg

In this special episode of Illinois Family Spotlight, Pastor Ceasar LeFlore sits down with Latasha Fields to discuss education, parental rights, and community empowerment.

Latasha Fields has been a home educator for over 18 years and her passion for parental rights and quality education is evident. She is a former candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Illinois, is a critic of the public school system, and has even testified before the U.S. Congress on “Poverty in America: Economic Realities of Struggling Families.” In addition to this, her opinion piece, “God, Parents, and the ‘1619 Project'” has appeared in The Wall Street Journal.

Because of her passion for education, Latasha founded the organization, CHESS (Christian Home Educators Support System), a homeschool co-op, support group and micro-school, and EPIC (Empowering Parents Igniting Communities), a parental rights organization.

“One thing that God did within weeks– He quickly began to teach biblically me why children needed to be out of the public school system.”

This is a fantastic conversation that you do not want to miss.
